oh and I just wanted to note also how disappointed I was that California didn't manage to pass Prop 19. :(

my herb shop carried an "incense blend" called K2 til feb when we got raided at which time they took all $50k+ worth of K2 we had in stock. these blends such as k2, spice etc are laced with a synthetic cannabinoid. it's not the mixture of herbs that give you that weird quasi high feeling. i know alot about herbs and i know its def not the mixture. after our raid the feds told us K2 was laced with JWH-018 and JWH-072. Which are synthetic cannabinoids (thc is a cannabinoid). I don't know what spice and others have in it, but I have NO doubt what so ever that they are all laced with research chemicals. That is why they can skirt the law until that particular chemical is noticed then scheduled, then they just move onto to a new research chemical. You can go on for years, decades just changing a tiny part of a molecule so it's slightly different and therefore legal for a time... Now there is K3, which I have no doubt has a similar chemical, just not absolutely the same chem as K2. I think as long as you are aware that you are smoking research chemicals, it's your choice. I personally have taken several random drugs ppl I have loved and trusted have given me without knowing what it was. But I don't trust a company with a random drug simply because they are out for profit. Always know the headwaters.... So I guess my very long answer is yes, be wary. And don't believe the dipshits who sell this stuff, they will tell you its all organic. I don't know how many vendors still try to get me to sell their "incense blends" even after the raid and use that line. I believe the salesman of the vendors and the retailers don't really know shit about what they are selling, they just know its making them money. Sorry for the long answer, I just happen to know alot on this topic and know it intimately, sadly. And yes i was raided, but oddly enough my store was raided a full month and a half BEFORE those two chemicals went into law as illegal.

Man that blows about the raid... here the smoke shops were put on alert when people started to bring it up in the news and stopped selling it entirely for a while. Then as people stopped talking about it you could get it if you already knew exactly what you were looking for and asked for it by brand. There's still some people campaigning against it but since kids aren't really getting a hold of it I don't think there's a panic.

thanks so much for the info about it all, I figured there had to be something more going on. The changing chemicals might even explain why the first time I tried it I felt really gross for three days (almost like an allergic reaction), then after much hesitation I tried a different brand and was fine. Definitely not something I'll make a habit of. <3!!!

I've never tried any of the legal substances that head shops sell. The only "legal" substance I had tried was salvia...and we all know how that one turned out. I think I purchased it under the name "purple sticky" or something along those lines. I wasn't hesitant to try it because it was a known real "drug," unlike the other stuff which claim to be like bud. If I want to get high, I smoke mj. Simple as that. Other stuff...don't really care for it. Maybe if you had asked me when I was 14-17 maybe I would've been more inclined. these days I just do what I know ;)

Where we live that junk is called K2 and a lottt of people smoke it. Personally, I think it is pretty dumb, because that stuff is literally just incense, which can potentially kill you. It does get you high but not as cleanly as regular ganja and it has a lot of health risks. I have only smoked it one time while drinking and it sort of got me high, mostly just intensified by intoxication though. I don't suggest it really.

I used to be a big ganja puffer but its a rare occasion these days... however I am a huge advocate for it and believe it serves many useful purposes. However this new stuff, I have tried and do not like it one bit. It was called Mr. Nice Guy (rip off from half baked mind you) I was at a party and someone handed me a pipe with what I thought was tobacco ... NOT SO MUCH...ne ways the high was disorienting and not clean... it almost gave an anxious feeling ... unlike pot where you are calm and can reasonably think (to a certain extent) this just took away motor function and thought process... idk maybe im being to hard on the substance or i was to susceptible to the stuff but it was not for me. Natural is always better... however in my book to each their own and be happy with what you choose just be careful with what u choose and how u do it...

i have tried it and whoa is it weird. it gives me the same high as weed does, at first. you get an insence taste in your mouth and i got light headed the first time i tried it. but just like pot it gave me cotton mouth, and my eyes turned all red and i was high. but it only lasted maybe 30 min at most. i dont know how i feel about it really, its way cheaper so if im ever money tight and want a fix bad yeah ill use it, but i think ill stick to the natural stuff until it gets legalized

where r u for it to be way cheaper??? here in va its twice as expensive!! its about 45.00 for a gram and 90.00 for 3 grams. i think its retarded. i would just rather smoke the real stuff!! LOL

me and my husband tried it and we both wound up in the doctors office the next day w/ severe headaches and violently throwing up. my hubs was worse off cuz he smoked more of it but we have not and will not ever touch that crap again. i was told though that you have to find the right one for yourself cuz there are sooooo many different ones out there already but we arent into it!!

yeah with so much chance for feeling like crap afterwards it doesn't seem like it's worth the hassle of finding the right one. Sorry you felt so sick! I think I lucked out that my last experience with it was okay, but it doesn't seem worth it compared to other highs.

spice is actually really bad for you (most synthetic chemicals are)...it's basically synthetic THC sprayed on herbs. most research chemicals come in a powder or crystalline form so in order to spray them on anything more chemicals have to be added to make it a liquid. i would never touch this stuff but i'm all about natural everything.
