Hey everyone! My name is Jamie and I live in Santa Cruz. I just started mini hooping yesterday :D I'm obviously a total noob, but I practiced until my hands were swollen and was able to learn the chase weave and thread the needle, along with some other flow movements. I'm so excited to learn more! I'm in SaFire's minis class which is absolutely wonderful.

 

Just wanted to give a short introduction :)

The most up-to-date listings of SF hoop gatherings usually show up on the Bay Area Hoopers Facebook group:  http://www.facebook.com/groups/62075620452/?ref=ts

 

Each Sunday, Bay Area Hoopers has a jam in SF in the aftenoons (roughly 1:00-4:00), but you have to check the site on a weekly basis for the location and times because it varies.

 

Every Monday, there is a hoop jam in Berkeley from 8-10 p.m. at Studio 12.  2525 8th Street, Berkeley, CA.  They ask for a small donation to help cover the cost of renting the beautiful indoor studio.

 

There are also monthly outdoor Saturday hoop jams in the East Bay (Berkeley) hosted by Anah and Rayna (check the Bay Area Hoopers Facebook page for details).

 

There are also many hoop jams that just happen spontaneously, and those are often publicized on the site days, hours, or minutes before the event.

@ Rico--I was also in SF for a short period of time, but I didn't get any response from any hoopers. By some stroke of luck, I stumbled upon a Fire Jam that occurs every 2nd Thursday of the month. When I went there were a few hoopers, but it was mostly people doing fire poi, but it's definitely worth going to!

West-coast bound!!! Im so excited to meet up with some hoopers in this area!  What parks are great to go to for hooping?  Is there a regular hoop gathering at any of them?  Anyone from this area please fill me in!  <3 <3 <3
