I'm so excited to be going this year!  I know there will be tons of hoopers there, but I'd love to get in touch with some beforehand.

hey hey, Anastazia! This here is Mr Krispy (Dorne) from Big Puffy Yellow Camp and yes, I will be there! Got yer ticket yet? There's a good bit of hoopers from our group: me, Katrina, Christine, Monica--and I know Caroleeena for sure will be coming with Bubble Camp....where are you coming from? Are you with a theme camp? XXOO...ps check out our charlotte hooper's site: spinrevolution.com
Why, hello, Mr. Krispy! I have my tickets hanging on my wall and extra copies in the glovebox just in case I forget them! lol.

I'm not in a theme camp. It's our first year to attend. It's actually my first camping festival of any sort, so I'm super excited!

We're coming from Baton Rouge, LA. My friend, Tori, is coming, too, as well as my boyfriend, who has started experimenting with minis.

I just lit my fire hoop for the first time a few nights ago. I only attached three of the six prongs, just to get my feet wet. I really need someone to help me with understanding how to adjust to the difference. I've been doing poi for several years, but swinging it around your head at the end of chain and having it surround you completely while moving your grip around are two completely different matters. lol.

Thanks for responding! I'll definitely come by your camp and introduce myself.
Transformus sounds awesome! I just checked out the website. This year doesn't seem to be in the cards for my husband and I but next year is definitely looking bright!
Yeah. The tickets are all gone. I just found out about it a few months ago and jump on it the second they went on sale. They don't last long. Keep your eye on next year, and be ready to pounce! :)
I'm going! I just got my first hoop though, so I won't be very good.
Oh cool! I love meeting new hoopers! We aren't with a theme camp. Are you? If so, let me know which one, and I'll try to find you. :)
I'm with Color Me Crazy... Or at least that's who I'm going with. ^_^
I will be there this year! It will be my first burn ever and I'm super excited. Not only that but I am a new hooper too, but i will be there hooping in all my newbie glory. This year I will be camping with the Philosopherz Stone- I just so happened to meet the people who run the camp.

It would be really awesome to meet some of you guys.
Hi Felicia! I *think* we will be with Camp Lazy F*%^. I am also volunteering with Sanctuary, so if you are looking for me they could probably tell you when I would be there. As it stands, I think it's 12-4 Fri and Sun and 4-8 Sat.

One of the many awesome things about hooping is that it creates instant friends. :) All you have to do is show up somewhere with a handful of hoops and start doing your thing and before you know it, you're surrounded with laughing and giggling new pals! I'm sure there will be a TON of hoopers there of various levels, and I've never met an unfriendly hooper (though I guess there may be some out there). Don't be shy about approaching people when they are just goofing off or taking a breather.

Can't wait to meet you! :)
C0ehlo and I will be coming down from Philadelphia. looking forward to meeting some of you southeast hoopers. we'll be camping with the poly haven.
I look forward to meeting you! We have joined Circus Combustus (rather than La-Z Fux - and after hearing more about the latter, I am increasingly glad for the swtich). We're doing a big show Friday night around dusk. If you aren't otherwise engaged, come check it out. It's on the edge of Valhalla. We'll have a lot of fire as well as aerial performances and other random amusements.
That sounds like our kind of camp! We're bringing down some silks of our own, hoping to hang them in a tree. We're pretty much beginners as far as aerial arts goes though.
Looking forward to seeing your performance and meeting you!

Swizzy Ape

a way out of the hoop

I'm stuck in a loop with the hula hoop. When I was a little girl I was abused in every which way. Often I was grounded to my bedroom, with two bathroom visits and a dinner release. In my bedroom held my boom box. Loud music would draw my angry step father towards my room. But I had to dance, so from a young age I would take a few preventable beatings so I could dance in my bedroom. Pretending I'm dancing on stage with Brain Setzer, I had trained myself to ingore reality while I dance. Even…

I haven't posted for a very long time, but I have something worth sharing.  In the last couple of years, I have advanced enough to start teaching and I absolutley love my classes.  All my students are wonderful its the most favorite part of my week. Through a very unfortunate series of events, every hoop I own, including my hoops for students, were taken and no longer in my possession. I was so upset ,not for myself, but my students would have nothing to take class with. There…
