Hey there hoop-city-hoopers! I just put up my new website, that goes with my new name...

Check it out!! :D

Happy Thanksgiving!
Tonight we're having a special silent jam from 7-9pm at the Dovercourt House, 3rd floor, 805 Dovercourt Rd, 1 block north of Bloor. It's music and hooping and no talking, and after we'll likely go out for food or a drink.

In Flow is THIS WEEKEND!!!
That's right, In Flow is here, it came so fast! Myself and 30 other fantastic hoopers will be spending Friday to Sunday of the long weekend hooping and stretching and enjoying the trees at In Flow. We'd love for you to join us!
The weekend features
- Lots of learning 15 hours of hooping workshops and 10 hours of yoga and acro-yoga. These two forms complement each other very well for balance in mind and body!
- Nature For when you want to skip class, have some alone time, or go on an adventure, we have full access to the Ecology Retreat Centre. Spring water, 11-circuit labyrinth, and hiking trails through hardwood forests and wetlands!
- All meals and lodging They're doing the cooking for us; it's going to be so nice to have food waiting!
- Nightly jams, including fire spinning
- Limitless inspiration, absorbed from the hoopers of all skill levels that surround you!
Tho most attendees are experienced hoopers, the only skill requirement is to be able to hoop on the waist! This weekend will be less about tricks and more about getting the most out of the tricks you already know! The workshops are more about play and practice and imagination. We'll also include lots of tips for double hooping, cause many of you are asking for it!

Oh so many videos!!
It was pointed out to me this week that many hoopers don't often get to see the most advanced in the community in their flow, either cause they can't make it out to shows, or we're too busy teaching at jams to rock out! Here are some of the newest videos from some of In Flow's instructors - enjoy!
Mo Bot's sultry new stage act and some undercover video of her at Lightning in a Bottle (and one of her double LED hooping while texting!)
Melodie explains how hooping has made her STRONGER, and her newest video here . She makes a lot of beautiful videos, check out the others in her channel!
Hulio Hoop's quick-as-fire double hooping at Piknik Electronik and fire spinning at the Blood Ballet Cabaret Show
Martyna's smooth, sensual flow is clear in this video
and Sadie's new compilation of this year's shows, some spinning during a vocal improv + hoop workshop and some undercover video at Lightning in a Bottle
Why I'll be there...
The teachers are paying to participate in this weekend too, so each of us made a similar time/money/energy decision as many of you may be doing now. I've spent thousands of dollars traveling over the continent to retreats similar to ours, so I'll give you some insight on why I'm coming....
Inspiration - I'm inspired by other hoopers. After 5 years and many many many hours of watching others hoop, I'm still inspired. I'm inspired by the determination, the uniqueness, the charm, the beauty of newbie and ninja hoopers. I hear (and feel!) music differently when watching someone hoop to it.
Patience - in a focused environment, with out the beeps and honks and clocks and daily stress, I have much more patience for myself. I'm able to enjoy hooping more deeply, absorb inspiration, and gain great insight about myself and my (chosen) life while inside the hoop
Teaching - I love teaching! I learn most deeply when I teach. I'm excited to share more with the community in an environment where we're ready to absorb! I'm also really really excited to learn from hoopers near and far!
Appreciation - in a focused environment, it's easy to take time to appreciate those around you. Not only their skill, but all the unique wonderfulness they bring to the community and to the world
Chill the F' Out! - We work too hard, it's time to play hard!
Water - For me, swimming is the best for balancing after a few hours of pushing myself and sweating hard. If you're looking for me, I'm probably in the pool!
Motivation for In Flow...
(In Flow mastermind) Mo Bot and I were at Hoop Con 2010 and we were talking "my body feels so good after a weekend of hooping!" "It's so nice to hoop in the same space as so many passionate people, it's contagious" "..why do we need to fly to North Carolina to do this? We have just as much talent at home, we could do this." And WE ARE DOING IT this weekend! Come play! http://inflowfestival.com
Thanks for being part of the community - whether you come to classes or jams, rock out at festivals, read this mailout, or hoop alone at home, thanks for spreading the movement and sharing the flow!
