I was wondering if anyone has used this in their diet?  I've read that it is a good additive for a vegan diet, and you sprinkle it on your veggies or food and it's like cheese?

I add it to pretty much all of my sauces at this point. i hadn't tried it until a few months ago, and now i'm crazy addicted.
I finally found some! Only took 3 tries-I was surprised I couldn't find it at Goodness Me, but I found it at another bulk store. Now time to try it...
I *love* nutritional yeast, too. I mix some into mashed tofu with a little lemon juice to make faux ricotta cheese for stuffed shells and lasagna. It's also great for making creamy salad dressing.
Like everyone else who has tried it I love Nutritional yeast. I eat raw and specially flavour wise its great. but just happend to found out that is not good to consume a lot of it as it has "hidden mycotoxins" Mycotoxins means a food tends to feed pathogens. being the root cause of many dis-ease that are difficult to treat or diagnose. other ones are mushrooms, dried fruit. and grains.
I love it too! Such an easy way to get B12. My cat loves it too. I sprinkle a bit on his food, and I am told it kills fleas.
It's good stuff - I get it in bulk at the Co-op. I use it in sauces (it helps thicken them), sprinkled on popcorn, or to make a "cheesy" sauce.

I was first introduced to nutritional yeast at the Rainbow Gatherings... at the main meadow daily meal, there's a guy who walks around with a big can of it, yelling "Yyyyyyyeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaasssssssstttt!!!" - and you gotta flag him down if you want to add some to your food. So funny!
Just be sure to use flakes not powder if the recipe calls for flakes, or adjust the amount of the powder. I used the same amount of powder in a no-cheese macaroni that called for flakes and I could not eat it, it tasted so bad. Otherwise, I like it in spaghetti sauce. It really tastes like parmesan cheese. I haven't really liked other things I've made with it.
