The Meltdown is a big semi local festival. Its in darrington....which is only an hour or so from seattle. I highly recommend it if you're still in the area in August :)

If your feeling spontaneous today (sunday the 27th) is the last day of folklife down at the seattle center..plenty of tasty bites from local food vendors, goods for sale, music, and there are always some fellow hoopers roaming about. (not to mention good people watching in general..) Goes until about 10pm I do believe, and If I'm not mistaken that big, bright ball of warmth I think known as the sun is coming out for us! Grab your hoop and dash lady!

If you can travel a few hours, there's the Oregon Country Fair in Veneta OR. It's the 2nd weekend in July. There is off-site camping and you have to reserve a space soon. http://oregoncountryfair.org/

If you feel like traveling a bit there is Northwest String Summit in August (same weekend as Meltdown this year I heard) just outside Portland, OR.  Also, String Cheese is playing at the same venue (Hornings Hideout) in July but tix are probably sold out or scarce at this point.
