Woot!  Maya, you had so much going for you!  You were determined, with the athletic build and drive to push through a bit of breathlessness and frustration in the beginning.  I knew you'd get the hang of it!  Dance on, pretty girl!

Ladies, yesterday I was able to keep the hoop on my waist for 200 revolutions in a row; As of Saturday (8/3) when before Sunday I couldn't even keep the hoop up at all.  I owe it to honeychile aka Vicky for really heelping me learn this weekend. You are awesome and I just had to let the others know!! Lots of hoop love and light <3

Hey Maya!

Just got back in town and catching up on emails.

Starting this coming Tuesday I'll be back at the Gateway YWCA too, on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 7:30ish. Message me at 336.577.6035 at least an hour ahead of time if you want to check it out and I can get you in for a free trial class if you're not a member.

Cheers,

Amy

Hi Honeychile, just wondering if you ever got my email on Friday? I never heard back and wanted to make sure it went through. Hope to her from you soon!

And I just want to chime in and invite any of you who are up for making a little road trip (about an hour) from W-S to Saxapahaw. We have a hoopjam in the Haw River Ballroom most Sundays from 3-5. The first 30 minutes is devoted to instruction if needed and the last 90 minutes is a free jam. The Ballroom is gorgeous and there is a proper floating dance floor and lots of space (not to mention the good coffee in Cup 22 overlooking the dance floor. There's a group from Greensboro that also joins us from time to time and we welcome new hoopdancers. PM me if you have any questions.

Hi there, Maya!  I live very close to WFU and often hoop in the green area between the Reynolda Village Shops and Lake Katharine.  If you live on campus, that's a very quick walk across the Reynolda walking trail (from Faculty Drive), across the dam at the Lake Katharine wetlands, and then to the left to the green area where people are picnicking, studying, playing frisbee, etc. in the green common area (north west of Reynolda House).  Just send me a private message and we can make plans to get together.  I'm no diva, but I've been hooping for several years and can you get started.

Hey guys! I'm new to the area and new to hooping, I would love to find others in the WFU area to hoop and learn with/from. I am awful at waist hooping (I can't keep it up for more than 3 rotations) and could really use some advice or teaching, I hope to hear from you all soon :)
