General Class Questions

Are the classes aired live?
No, the classes are filmed and edited giving you several different angles to help you learn better. This also makes them available to you at any time so you don’t have to watch the class at a specific time and risk missing it.

How many times can I take each class?
You can go through the lessons as many times as you like. Returning to a lesson and reviewing content can provide new ideas as well as solidify your skills.

Do I have to take the class all in one sitting and how long do I have to finish it?
Classes can be stopped at any point in time and you are always welcome to return to finish them later. However, if you come back the place where you last were will not be saved and you will have to fast forward to get to the same section again. Most tutorials are short to allow for fast download times and so it's easy to scrub through and find the place you left off.

Where can I take the classes?
Anywhere you like! Once you've registered for a class all you have to do is log in to any computer, anywhere and you'll have instant access to your classrooms. If you have an iPod or iPhone you can put the downloadable tutorials onto them and take your Hooping classes everywhere you go!

How are the classes being filmed?
Some tutorials are recorded in a studio and some done outside. All videos use multiple angles, slow motion and flipped footage so you can view the video demonstrating the move in both the right and left currents.

How do I know which classes to take?
Review the Class Outlines and the Class Comparison Charts on the Registration Page. Even the most skilled hooper can benefit from hearing a new perspective on the same moves. Here's what one student had to say:

"Before Sandra's classes, I learned a lot of my stuff off of YouTube so I naturally signed up for the Budding hoopers b/c there were tricks in it that I was struggling with or didn't know. Then I signed up for the seeding hoopers class b/c I figured it would be a good idea to have a solid foundation of the basics and I am so glad I did!! It has really helped me refine what I already had learned and I've gotten so much better because of it. And the breaks and reversals class is awesome too!"

Are there prerequisites for taking certain classes?
No, but please review the class outlines to get an idea of what moves you'll need to already know. Many students purchase multiple classes and work through the material completing what they can and returning at a later date to retry what they had trouble with the first time. Everyone learns differently and SaFire makes every effort to break down moves to simple motions that require little prior knowledge.

Feel free to move to another level whenever you like. Not all tricks are sequential, meaning a beginner could do some of the advanced moves even without the beginning building blocks. As mentioned above; many students purchase multiple classes and work through the material completing what they can and returning at a later date to retry what they had trouble with the first time. Everyone learns differently and SaFire makes every effort to break down moves to simple motions that require little prior knowledge.

Payment

How do I pay for online classes?
To pay for online classes you must have a Credit Card or PayPal account. Payments are made through PayPal, but you can use a Credit Card through PayPal even if you do not have a PayPal account. You will select which classes you want, put in all your information into the Final Details area and then pay the one time fee for your classes. Class costs are significantly lower than SaFire's Studio Classes and cost for a Private Lesson.

What happens after payment?
On Monday or Friday you will receive an invitation to join us in the classroom. Your invitation with be sent to the e-mail you provided when paying. If you did not fill out the "Current E-mail Address" text box before clicking the "Add to Cart" button, then your invitation will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your PayPal account. Please note, that this e-mail invitation is personally sent by me, it is not an automated process and doesn't happen instantly. This means if I'm away from my desk or on retreat it may be a few days before you receive your invitation. See a sample of what the invitation looks like

Are there refunds?
Yes, if you are not satisfied with the quality or quantity of what is available in the online classes, you can apply for a refund. Please message me with details about why you are unsatisfied with the classes and we can work towards a solution. As a gift, you will get to maintain registration in the Planting Seeds Class absolutely FREE and continue to receive any new content added to the classroom! You can request your refund for up to 30 days after purchase! Please be sure to consider carefully which class you'll be purchasing so you choose the class best suited for you.

Hi Nina,

I'm not sure actually. If you can stream YouTube or Vimeo videos on your phone when online then you should be find watching the tutorials online using your phone as well.

When you choose to save pick the option that says "Save As". Your computer should then give you the option of selecting a folder to save it too.  Also consider checking if you have a "downloads" folder.

Swizzy Ape

a way out of the hoop

I'm stuck in a loop with the hula hoop. When I was a little girl I was abused in every which way. Often I was grounded to my bedroom, with two bathroom visits and a dinner release. In my bedroom held my boom box. Loud music would draw my angry step father towards my room. But I had to dance, so from a young age I would take a few preventable beatings so I could dance in my bedroom. Pretending I'm dancing on stage with Brain Setzer, I had trained myself to ingore reality while I dance. Even…

for the love of hoopers......

I haven't posted for a very long time, but I have something worth sharing.  In the last couple of years, I have advanced enough to start teaching and I absolutley love my classes.  All my students are wonderful its the most favorite part of my week. Through a very unfortunate series of events, every hoop I own, including my hoops for students, were taken and no longer in my possession. I was so upset ,not for myself, but my students would have nothing to take class with. There…
