curious about them... they sound perfect for shy hoopers like us... 50% off employee discount (brown-bagging is still cheaper) - and i agree on the poutine: yummy yet you pay for the gooey goodness later (lol) i have purry kids (cats) a calico grrl ('echo') and a orange tom ('Mike' -short for michaelangelo, but he's modest ;p) i miss them sooo much right now- they're out in airdrie @ a friend's until 'we' can get a new place to call home. i'll have to find some pix to put up on here of them... the park's okay.. got there late last sun. (5-ish) most had left....there was a mom and son there (he was about 8-9 or so) they kept having 'hoopwars' - he won, of course (- with some help from mom)... don't worry to much about your skills... mine are 'crap-tacular right now- too tired from work most days... hoping to hoop this weekend...maybe even go down to p.i.p. say, what colour is your hoop from hoop-di-do?? am thinking of calling her this weekend to get one...well, have a 'girl's date' to prep for, so will talk again soon... hula hugs, adele... :D

Congrats on the (soon-to-be) new hoop!! :D I've heard of her, in fact, i was planning on getting a hoop from her in the next few weeks :) Cool about the class; i've been trying to find classes here in town and splat... couldn't find a one... let me know how it goes... maybe i could try it too.... you're welcome about the link(s) i think hoop-di-do may be the only hoop maker in the calgary region...there's definitely a niche waiting to be filled there... Couldn't find work in a coffee shop (was banging my head against a wall trying) then realized i needed a change. A relative got me a job working at an A&W cashier/front counter... it's a living... at least now i can save up for a new place, just me and the furballs...A toddler can certainly keep you on your toes!!! :D am starting to go down to prince's island park- starting today... every sunday 2-6 (near the bridge closest to eau claire.. until now, solo- although the neighbour's kids are very curious. :) ((hula hugs)) and ttyl.. :D who knows.. maybe we'll meet down @ p.i.p. one of these days .... laters :)

i don't know 'her' actual weight.. just that she's over 1.5lbs and is a 'travel hoop'. The water 'thing' might be the problem with yours; almost sounds like it was meant to be a 'work-out' hoop rather than a 'dance' hoop... i doubt it's your 'skill' or a lack thereof...after all, everyone starts from somewhere -even the best of us. :D (There are vids on yt that show how to d.i.y. them - even decorating them!! :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8FzWtgf_Lc (for example) Normally, I work as a sales clerk or as a barista (think espresso machine in a coffee shop) My (ex) room-mate 'helped' me get into this 'situation'... i wouldn't have minded staying put... i only have the one, from pixie hoops (bought online)... 'she' is a 40" and is heavy.... a lighter, smaller one might work easier for learning... tried some moves with a friend's hoop last fall and (sort of) got them... tried a 'helicopter' on the weekend and mostly got it... windy + heavy hoop = 'helicopter with a bent propeller' lol...Since yours came from the collective...is it a locally made one? am curious... know it's possible to d-i-y them (with the right tools, 'ingredients' and you tube video :D) getting a new job 'outweighs' the need for hoop, though....ugh... all things in time, i guess... am staying with friends @ the moment... used to live near here, so it's familiar ground (sort of) market collective sounds great!! am looking forward to it... though my skills need some work oh well, practice makes improvement ;p ... there's a big park out behind my friends' place so.... practice = lots of room at last :D cats are safely in a kennel, things are looking up :) hula hugs to you!!!!

started a few months ago.. however it's hard to do indoors in a small space with cats nearby- they run for cover whenever i pull out my hoop lol.. have been learning moves from you tube and here... how long have you been hooping? :D
