When did you first start hooping

Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper?
I really don't know how to answer this question because I feel there's always something new I could learn or improve on. When can one say they are really "advanced"? I simply do not know.

How often do you hoop?
Usually about everyday usually for an hour or 2

Do you have indoor hoop space?
Yes, but trying not to break things is an issue. Haha

Is there a hoop group where you live?
Not officially, but I have a circle of hoopers/poi spinners around that I meet up with as often as possible.

Did you start it?
No, but I certainly have a hand in it.

Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping?
Addicted. Definitely. I’ve been hooping over a year now and I’m still very much in love with my hula hoop as I was the day I got my first one in the mail.

Have you posted hooping videos? How many?
Yep, I think I’m up to 10 now. Wow.. Haha. But most of those are from where I’ve been obsessed with minis.

Do you have friends nearby to hoop with?
YESS!! My local hooping community has really grown in the past year. It’s nice to finally have people I can call up and say “Let’s hoop! NOW!” And they’re always, always down for it J I’m so fortunate

Do you teach hooping? If so, how many people have you taught?
I wouldn’t call myself a “hoop teacher” but I’ve taught my friends tons of tricks.

What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping?
Oooh, well I listen to a lot of Dubstep, electronica, electro, house, BASSSS

Do you buy hoops or make your own?
I bought my first few hoops then I started making my own day hoops. I bought my LED hoops from Rob the Cosmic Hooper and my fire hoop is from Cosmic Fire (which is now Synergy)

Have you lost weight since starting to hoop?
Yep, about 10 pounds

What size is your favorite hoop?
32” polypro <3

Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place?
I'll hoop anywhere and everywhere I can

How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today?
Tutorials from youtube and hoopcity. Also but just playing around and picking up some cool ideas from my hoop friends

SaFire, Caroleeeena, Brecken

What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers?
Dropping your hoop is part of the process. Keep your head up, you’ll get it. I promise J

Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to?
I do fire hoop and I absolutely love it. It's such a rush everytime I light it up.

Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it?
I do. I have two actually. They’re both from Rob’s Cosmic Hooper’s Emporium of Bliss. One is a 34” rainborion with 28 LEDs and 7 full-spectrum meteors. I also have a 2-sectional meteor shower hoop from him. 34” regular that splits into 17” minis with solid pink and purple/blue/white meteors. So beautiful <3

How much time do you spend on Hoop City Hooping Community?
Wow, umm well I don't really know cuz I'm on here constantly.

What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)?
The lift up from waist to lasso

What is the last trick you mastered?
Wow, I don’t even know what they’re called…something pretty experimental I’m working on….

What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn?
3-beat weave with minis. I’m still working out the kinks in that one.

Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get?
The kickstart. I just don't like to practice it cuz it hurts :( & 3 beat weave with minis

How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city?
Tons now!! YAY! Probably a good 15-20 I’d guess

Have you performed hooping in front of an audience?
Small crowds at a bar? But I would hardly call those performances. I just like hooping to that kind of music

Has anyone told you you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop?
Yeah, my parents thought I was crazy for spending my income tax money on a hula hoop, but I don't care.

What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop?
Um, I’ve been in in the face a few times by other people’s hoops. And I’ve hit my ears a few times…you wouldn’t think that hurts that bad but omg…

Have you ever hooped naked?
Yeah. But my ladies often get in the way if you know what I mean. Haha. Makes things a little more difficult

Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one?
No. But eventually I want to make it to Hoop Convergence. What I wouldn’t give to go….
