I use a ratcheting pipe cutter to cut polypro tubing-- I also use it to cut the black hoop tubing. It gives me a clean cut for both types of tubing.

I found that if I put it all the way near the bottom and go really quickly, I get the best results. It still squishes the tubing a little bit, but its better than what I was getting before.

I just wanted to outline what happened to me recently so that I can reiterate to everyone the importance of stretching before hooping! I do a lot of poi hooping in particular, and I am always trying out new moves that put strain on the muscles in my neck, back, and shoulders.

Last night, I had a great night with my girls. I was putting myself out of my element, but keeping an open mind, and I had the best time. We went out for some fancy cocktails, and then were heading to a dance party to hoop it up during our DJ friend's set. The party was happening at a club in this semi-industrial area. I just recently got a 40 hour a week job, which was a blessing because I have been struggling financially. Its been hard to find time to hoop because I am so exhausted after work. I am trying to find time to volunteer once a week, spend time with my boyfriend (who works a totally opposite schedule it seems), and enjoy my life in Hawaii. I wish there was time for the hoop in it. Any time I go to the beach, I bring my hoop, but it seems like its been way to windy to do it lately.
