Curse you lack of counterweight!

A friend of mine sent me an LED hoop for my birthday. It's a cheaper one, which is fine. 38", sanded, blah blah de blah, but it isn't counterweighted. And wow I never thought the weight of a BATTERY…

Boredom and a Sharpie

So, short of it: A friend bought me a glow hoop. I like it but it's smaller than I'm used to, so I decided screw it and cut one of my handmade 40" down to the 38" that the glow hoop is. The process…

Idiot spectators: how to deal?

For the record, I do not use idiot lightly. I've been working outages this year since early January. Between a six twelves a week work schedule and phenomenally crappy weather in Louisiana, Nebraska,…

Hoopin in mah steeltoes

Who am I?

I'm a loud bitchy talkative industrial worker. I'm a junior radiation protection technician who also draws as a hobby. I'm new to the hoop and look forward to taking it with me as I travel for work. And yes, I eat meat and I occasionally defend the practice of eating meat. If that makes me a terrible person in your eyes, that's your problem.

Adventures in Sensitive Skin Management

Posted on January 9, 2011 at 11:50am 0 Comments

Short version: I'm not diagnosed (never been to a skin doctor or allergist) but I've managed to figure out I have far-end sensitive skin. I thought for years I was fighting acne, turns out I do have some acne but mostly what I've been combating are hives and breakouts associated with allergic reactions. So, after many months of experimentation and waiting to see how I react to things, here are the products I'm using. Keep in mind: I work an industrial job, so soapless/shampooless are not…

Going to Louisiana

Posted on December 28, 2010 at 2:21pm 2 Comments

Saint Francisville to be exact, which is somewhere near Baton Rouge. I'm going down for the Riverbend outage which means I'm drivin from Michigan to Louisiana in under two days. Leaving Saturday morning with any luck, so right now I'm in the start of organizing. I'm getting stuff I care about onto my new laptop (including my music, story, and artwork stuff), setting up a new phone, and so on. Tomorrow I'll be going shopping and picking up a list of stuff, like blank CDs... I'm going to clone…

You got banned? How exactly were you preaching against flow? I'd be interested to hear it if you could private message me somehow so you don't get banned again.

Thank you, that makes me feel really good considering I'm always down on myself and feel like I haven't found my flow yet.

i am sorry to admit this.  i saw your postings in other places and i am sorry to admit but must in all honestly say that i am surprised you found harmony with my comments on the animal products debate/discussion.  i appreciate the encouragement, i am often not well spoken and my honest feelings seeming to be received helps me feel that the work i have done to express myself in a more acceptable way might be working.

I hate to assume (whenever i realize i am) and i can't remember for sure, if you are vegetarian or not.  but i would like to point out that i have spent time eating red meat and abstaining from read meat, even a time where i ate nothing that was not plant based, and have since returned to eating meat (mostly out of hunger and un-ignore-able cravings, i have heard lots of interesting things about food cravings but that is another day another conversation), i have spent time making all products that i use and time where i was forced to purchase.  I have been on both sides of the fence, would like to continue being an ever changing and evolving being.  I am interested in your plan on where and how you will be donated when you pass from this consciousness, as well as probably other thoughts you have i am not yet aware of but this is a good place to start.

Oh, I never would have even thought of coleslaw cuz I don't like it myself. That's great! You can get huge buckets of it at the store, hehe. And I know what you mean about animal rescue.. I didn't even realize so many small animals were needing it! That website you linked blew my mind. I thought animal rescue stuff was mostly dogs and cats.. didnt realize there was such an abundance of the little guys. I wish they were closer. Although then I'd probably take in a whole zoo of them :p

Hi- thanks for the guinea pig tips :) I checked out that site you linked, and unfortunately the closest ones are in the next province over, which would be a few days trip cuz they are on the other side. :( I'll keep checking to see if anything new comes up though or see if I can find a similar website that would be more local. I have some Timothy hay, but I hadn't found food yet. I will keep what you said in mind. Thanks again, I appreciate it!
