Hey there! 

I haven't been on hoop city in FOREVER or so it seems.  Really its been like 6 months.  You see I became pregnant and then it seemed all of my hobbies went on the back shelf as a full 9 months of morning sickness took over.   My son is now 2 months old and I am so so so ready to get back into the hoop and into the swing of things.   I wonder if its like riding a bike ?  I have only managed to pick up my hoop twice since he was born and so far so good.   Will I bruise like I did 3 years ago when I started?   I pray not, but I havent done much in 6 plus months so we will see.

I started hooping in 2008, after seeing some hoopers at some local festivals.  I was entranced and decided to try.  I went home found a tutorial on how to make your own hoop, and went to town.   It took me at least a week to figure out how to keep the hoop up, but once i got that I didnt stop.  I would hoop for 3 or more hours a day and would be so sore somedays I could hardly move.  It was sooo addicting.  within 4 months I had lost 50 lbs.  Being a big girl my entire life that was quite the accomplishment.  I hit a platue and my weight loss stopped,   I actually started to gain some , but it is what it is.

I recently discovered  I have Liver Disease and my live may have been a problem in my losing weight.   Right now I am on a special liver friendly diet that should help even things out.   I am hoping that hooping will really help me like it did when I first started.  With this special diet and my hoop, maybe my body will be healthy once again. They said my liver issue isnt curable , but it is manageable.  Well  I plan on fully managing it!
