New to hooping, having trouble

I can hoop around my waist and hips really well, go the opposite direction, turn in all ways, and stall and all that but I've been trying to learn the lift up into lasso and I can get it up there…

"your dad is right hahah.. yer hand doesnt need to grasp the hoop its basically only your thumb, trying turning while you do it and remeber to basically throw it awayyyyy from your body when you do it"
