"I just got my polycarb in the mail today (from hippiehoops on etsy) and I think it's great! It's definitely going to take some getting used to (the sproing haha) but I'm loving it! I feel I will be picking it up frequently! plus…"
"It is amazingly thin and curious! Beautiful and simple. It takes a bit getting used to and if you hoop really fast it has this strange boingy lasso effect. I feel it is responsive and demanding of accuracy... It has a bit…"
"So hey! Lanternsmith sent me the new bubble ring! I made a quick video. This is the FIRST TIME I've used it and I compared it in a little double hooping with a 36" polypro. I have barely picked it up so its not my…"
"Oh maaan that sucks! I'm super surprised that the polycarbonate connection bent like that. I thought that stuff wasn't supposed to happen because the material is so strong. I haven't made my hoops yet so…"
"I bought 30ft of clear polycarb from hoopsupplies and the xxs quick releases they provide. I made a 30"OD hoop and I really like it (29" ID 5/8 polypro is my usual). It was definitely a pain to work with though because it doesn't like…"
"OH! I meant November 2012! Last year. So its only been 5 months since I first bought it. Oops. I did think it was very kind of them to offer to replace it. They wanted to take the messed up one out of circulation."
"No need to feel like you shouldn't post that. Thank you for sharing your experience. That’s what we’re all here for. I’d probably recommend the same thing. When I posted this thread I don’t think hoopsupplies…"
"If you are wanting to try a polycarb hoop, I'd highly suggest getting tubing from Hoopsupplies.com and trying that before investing in one from Lanternsmith. You can get one, even in colors, from hoopsupplies for $40 plus $10 shipping.…"
Hi beautiful hooper! I saw your thread online here and saw you make polypro hoops!! Will you be attending spac with Phish July 6,7,8 by chance? I just started a thread on here actually about trying to meet up with a hooper who's selling any of those hoops at the Phish shows! I LOVE THOSE HOOPS! Anyway! Have a beautiful day! happy hooping! -Michelle
Haha! Right! It totally is! I actually found it on ebay for $5.99 a roll; but it is only 25 ft. long, compared to 150. But the price and length actually even out to the different of 3 dollars. I have one more question for you, if you don't mind. I heard mirror tape can start to curl up on the edges. Have you made a hoop just out of the fire opal tape? If so, did you have to wrap is with a clear vinyl? Thank you so much!!
:o That's really generous of you. Oddly enough, there was student council meeting today discussing plans for a rave fundraiser ("Glowcoming") and I was about to ask whether you had any extra glow hoops.
