"That's how I though about it too. Glad to see most hoop crafters are being honest. Your hoop looks awesome!! I had a really hard time working with the engineer grade tape. I couldn't manage to keep it wrinkle and crinkle…"
"Thanks for this! I have a shop and recently purchased the solid engineer grade tape to try out. I saw shops selling for the same price as the typical reflective tape...(wtf!?) The tape cost maybe a dollar more then any other tapes I get so I charge…"
"The tape I use reflects the color of the tape - the silver looks white when reflected. I'm not sure about different colors being reflected from one base color tape. The tape you mention is actually Diamond grade conspicuity tape (type 5)…"
"I was wondering if you know if the high intensity tape reflects different colors of light? I believe that's the like "industrial-grade" stuff and if you've ever seen a semi-truck drive past a police car, the tape (at least the…"
"I personally like the geometric shapes on the reflective tape too but that's just my preference. I've seen one vendor, WhirlandDirvish, use translucent color shifting deco tape on top of the reflective tape and it looks really…"
"Totally true and thank you for this. I have purchased my own tapes and they are brilliant and wonderful for the reflecting effect and I feel like they have a pretty white geometric pattern in it when they are not reflecting light...:) I…"
Reflective tape/hoops is a big hot topic right now. Unfortunately, I have seen a lot of misinformation from a specific hoop vendor regarding this product and it's abilities so I wanted to break some things down. This vendor claims that somehow the patterned reflective tape is inferior and leaves black streaks in photos and that the solid color reflective tape is just as bright by comparison.Firstly, there are several different types/grades of reflective tape that vary in quality and brightness.…See More
"I think that would work great to store your hoops as long as you rotate them so the pressure isn't constantly tugging on one end and warping the hoops.
Seems like a way fancier solution that what I did: Old wire hangers that I opened…"
"Another thing to consider is you don't know what that hooper's story is. If you saw me hooping with my smart hoop at The Mad Tea Party Jam over the past weekend, you'd probably think I was a newbie-not doing many "tricks",…"
"You're absolutely right. & That's how I feel about smart hoops - uninterested, for myself at least. They sure are pretty. I have been hooping for 4 years and I still don't have one. I cant get myself to spend that much…"
Hi beautiful hooper! I saw your thread online here and saw you make polypro hoops!! Will you be attending spac with Phish July 6,7,8 by chance? I just started a thread on here actually about trying to meet up with a hooper who's selling any of those hoops at the Phish shows! I LOVE THOSE HOOPS! Anyway! Have a beautiful day! happy hooping! -Michelle
Haha! Right! It totally is! I actually found it on ebay for $5.99 a roll; but it is only 25 ft. long, compared to 150. But the price and length actually even out to the different of 3 dollars. I have one more question for you, if you don't mind. I heard mirror tape can start to curl up on the edges. Have you made a hoop just out of the fire opal tape? If so, did you have to wrap is with a clear vinyl? Thank you so much!!
:o That's really generous of you. Oddly enough, there was student council meeting today discussing plans for a rave fundraiser ("Glowcoming") and I was about to ask whether you had any extra glow hoops.
