"Try getting some homepathic arnica gel for the bruises.  It really works for me.  Makes the bruises way less nasty looking and it heals alot faster.  I got a tube of it from whole foods for like 6 dollars and 3 years later i still…"

Getting a Little Easier

After a few days of practicing in my garage, I'm starting to see some improvement. I can now walk all around (forward, backward, side to side, around in circles) while waist hooping. Now I'm trying to work on going from waist hooping to lasso and then back down, but it's a challenge for me. I can't seem to get that one down. I'm apparently very fond of whacking myself in the back of the head with the hoop! I've got some beautifully colored bruises on my hips and probably elsewhere. Who knew I…See More

First Day of Hooping

Posted on September 25, 2012 at 7:21am 1 Comment

Even though I got my hoop about a week ago, Friday was the first time I had a chance to pick it up after being out of town. The first time I tried to get the hoop going, it fell flat to my feet. I haven't used a hoop since those really cheap ones kids use, and I was only about 8 yrs old. I kinda figured this would happen. I tried again and the same thing happened. The third time was the charm. My body remembered what it had to do to keep the hoop spinning. I started out in my living room,…

Just Getting Started with Hooping

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:59am 4 Comments

I have just decided that I want to try hooping. A lot of my friends love doing it and I love to watch it so I thought I'd give it a try. The only hooping I've ever done was as a kid with those little plastic hoops. Ordered my first hoop and I should have it in today. I can't wait to get started and I hope I eventually become good at it!
