so friday night there was a free party at genesee valley park! the same place we did whirly wednesday all summer! the big pavillion there is a perfect place for that kind of thing. the pavillion is huge and there's nothing around there, as in nonresidential nearby. just more park and river. there's never been an issue with the volume of the drum circle, and not even for a little electronic music shindig either now! we had looked into having a free day party there back in may, and weekends were…  

world hoop day was soooo awesome! in addition to a bunch of the regular attendees, we had a bunch of new people. even some non hooping friends from buffalo who came too(for some poi spinning and chilling!) rebecca (who teaches hoop in town, but usually works on wednesdays)and her friends made a point of taking off for the holiday! sue and paul (he found me thru hoop city!) came all the way from erie pennsylvania for world hoop day! that's three hours away! we had a great time tho, paul says…  

so this weekend on saturday we had a hoop making party. not as many people as who expressed interest could actually make it, but now that it's over, that's fine because it would have been soooo crowded at my place! not everyone could make it that day, but we'll do it again, or people can get int ouch and we can set up something. so many nice hoops were made!

last night my glasses had brush with death by hoop!



in a moment of well timed enthusiam, i tossed my hoop up really high in the air. and i stuck my arm up to catch it and turned my head towards the sky so i could adjust to catch it. i looked up just in time to see the hoop coming fast at my face. as it hit my face, i knew that was the end of my glasses... or so i thought! they're horrendously crooked, but somehow they lived! the nose pads mushed with the weight of the hoop and…
