I know everyone probably thinks about lighting up at one time or another. but a fire hoop is quite dangerous, even when used by professionals. My hoopiversary is coming up this May, and I really am…

I made my own hoop a while ago, and when I made it it was pretty close to a circle. The tubing I got was already in a circular shape, and it made it easier to make the hoop. but now it's beginning to…

Are there aluminum hula hoops? I've seen videos with hoops that have a surprisingly shiny surface, but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for. Does anyone hula hoop with a metal hoop? I'm not sure…

Well, looks like it's that time of year again. The giving time of year.
I had an idea with my Facebook hoop group that we should do a calendar and give all proceeds to the World Hoop Day organization. and they agreed! Several people donated photos that were quite good. I'm so excited! I really hope that we are able to make a donation that will make a dent in the efforts of these people trying to improve the lives of children.
My entire life I've wanted to do…

Hula hoops can either be a gift of salvation, or they can be tools for frustration.
Mostly, for me, lately they've been tools for bruising.
The only real trouble is that I can't remember where or when these happen. I don't bruise all that easily, but each time I see one they're black and blue. Am I getting into fights in my sleep? Am I abusing myself?
The second question, one could argue is debatable, if I continue to hoop on bruises - which I…

Okay, so anyone who read my last blog heard all about my shoulder hooping troubles.
I nailed it! But only once.
I guess that's just my small triumph for the week. I haven't done it since, but I have a bathroom that's like full of mirrors, so I was thinking of practicing in front of that.
I guess maybe sometimes you just have to stop thinking about the big picture. Since when is hooping about impressing people anyway? Even though, let's face…

It's funny how learning one simple thing can just blow your mind.
For example, I've been trying to learn shoulder hooping. I've been trying all the tips I've read about, all the techniques, all the tutorial videos... my friend even made one for me. But each time I duck my head out, it just flies away... it's like my shoulder simply doesn't want to grab it. All I end up with are bruises and frustration.
I'm also trying to learn it soon because I'm going to get my wisdom teeth…
I love you Gabbi!!! I hope you're having an awesome break! I'm glad it's finally snowed, now I can try snow-hooping!!! Anyway, I miss you a ton and hope you love your new hoop!!! <3, K
gabbi, i miss you soooooo much, haven't seen you since that ball game! i've been hooping, got my forty-some year old friend who bluntly refused to hoop to ty it, come to find out she's really good! so help me write a story! here's the first part:
She had a secret, a deep dark secret. She longed to make it known to the world, but she hid it instead, molded it into a tiny ball and hid it away from the world. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a girl shows up, one of her close friends, and she has a hoop. And she's good at it. And the woman thinks to herself,"Wow. She reminds me of me." The girl keeps pressing her to try it, taunts her, begs her, but the woman keeps refusing. And one night, she gives up and asks the girl to let her hoop. The girl laughs, shouts to the sky "YES!" and runs to get her hoop, a light blue practice hoop that she had taped herself. She handled it as only a hooper could, and tossed it to the woman. She caught it expertly, and slipped it over her head. She spun it around her waist and it stayed, and she hooped for a long time. And it felt wonderful. But suddenly...
Help me finish!!!
