New Fire Spinner

Hey folks, I just built myself a fire hoop and received my kevlar in the mail yesterday. I'm super excited but am all about the safety. Any tips would be appreciated....-what kind of fuel to use? Have heard of mixing kerosene and colemans fuels. Any other suggestions I should be aware of?-proper storage of dipping and dripping buckets?-proper storage of wicks? (I was thinking I'd make some little leather covers to slip over the wicks after they've been used and cooled...)-proper methods of…See More

If Today Could be a Poster...

Posted on March 10, 2010 at 8:28pm 0 Comments

If today could be a poster it would be one of those demotivational ones w/ something snarky on it like "Fun and Failure begin the same way" or "Chronic pain - it's chronic cause it has more stamina than you." Perhaps I should explain.

I am a registered massage therapist, not even one year into my practice. I went into school w/ dreams of earning tonnes of $$$, soothing people's pain and correcting their physical dysfunctions. I've come out of it with a $40 000 debt and barely enough…

BRAND NEW!

WEEEEEEEE! I'm so excited! A hoop community!!! Haha! Now I can put my plan into motion... my plan to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

So I have been hooping for around 3 years and am still enjoying this sweet love affair. Bumps, bruises, face mashing, wrong tubing and running our of tape aside, I love practicing w/ and making my hoops. I got my start in the hoop w/ Lori Lynn out of Luscious Belly studios in Hamilton ON and was immediately in love. Bought my first hoop the second class and have not…

That's awesome! Sorry I missed it, seemed like there was 100 things to do on saturday and I didn't get most of them finish. I hope that you hear back from some of the people. I think I may try to go to the Waterloo art's festival next week and see if maybe there are some hoopers there that I don't know about.

Circus fit is down on barton and fruitland rd. www.zacadacircus.com It's pretty open as to what you want to do-poles, silks, trampouline, trapeze. They do a warm up, then you go off and learn what you like. I like the aerial hoop and trapeze, but lately I've been doing a lot of hooping.

I've been hooping just over a year, and have taken 3 sessions with Laurie. It's helpful to go in the winter because hooping space is minimal. I've been taking my hoop to circus fit classes every week too-and that provides a lot of space. Can't wait for the good weather to stay! We need to have our own hoop camp in Ontario I think-enough of these hoops events in california or far away places!
