What is the importance of a long connector when making your own hoop as opposed to a shorter one? And why in God's name doesn't Home Depot carry them?! LOL.

Will there ever be a Hoop City app for smart phones? It would make it so much easier to get online. I don't often use my computer and going online for the phone takes so much time.

How old are you?
21
When did you first start hooping?
June of 2010.
Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper?
Intermediate.
How often do you hoop?
I try to get into my hoop every day, but I have to say I only hoop about five days out of the week. That is another hoop goal… make time every day to let loose in my 35” of personal space! ;)
Do you have an indoor hoop space?
I have a large living room, so I just move the coffee table and I have tons of space. I’ve gotten good enough to where I don’t drop my hoop much, but I purchased a hoop with white tape which has saved me many hours of scrubbing the walls, bahaha!
Is there a hoop group where you live?
No, I live in a small town to which I recently moved and have yet to branch out.
Did you start it?
N/A
Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping?
Gawd, yes! If I’m not hooping, I’m on YouTube browsing hoop videos.
Have you posted hooping videos? How many?
I have tracked my hoop journey on YouTube since November of 2010, so I have 16 videos. I think only 5 or 6 of them are on my HoopCity profile.
Do you have friends nearby to hoop with?
Soon. J
Do you teach hooping? If so, how many people have you taught?
No, but I wouldn’t mind when I advance.
What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping?
A wide variety. Psytrance, techno, tribal, hip-hop, pop, and is Lady Gaga a genre? ;)
What is your favorite song right now?
Milan – The Coming Together by Ricky Kej
Do you buy hoops or make your own?
I buy because I’m not so crafty, but I’d like to make one to practice with. Spending precious money on a hoop only to have it scratched up sucks, lol.
Have you lost weight since starting to hoop?
Yes, but recently I’ve had a major sweet tooth so I need to quit that lol.
What size is your favorite hoop?
35” but I’ve never tried any smaller.
Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place?
I’ve recently become comfortable. I am usually very shy.
How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today?
More advanced tricks have come from YouTube.
Who is your favorite hoop teacher?
I watch a lot of BabzRobinson, SaFire, Seer5, and Caroleeena’s tutorials on YouTube.
What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers?
Keep at it and have fun. Also, for tricks that you are “so close” to completing, walk away for the day if you get too frustrated and come back tomorrow.
Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to?
Not yet. ;)
Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it?
Yes, my boyfriend bought me a Rainborion LED from the CosmicHooper this last Christmas. What a doll, huh? :P
How much time do you spend on Hoop City?
Not as much as I thought I would because I mostly use my iPhone instead of a computer, but when I do get on Hoop City, I have to pry myself off of it.
What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)?
The Vortex.
What is the last trick you mastered?
Other than a couple different variations of jump throughs, I mastered the back roll. PROUD!
What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn?
Vertical chest hooping. I learned it fast enough, but I’m still not that great at it. It’s the perfecting it that is taking a while. I also had trouble transferring the hoop from shoulder to shoulder in front of me.
Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get?
The no-handed step-through… lol.
How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city?
One that I know of who actually contacted me through Hoop City.
Have you performed hooping in front of an audience?
I recently hopped on the dance floor at a bar that my hoop mama dances at… she encouraged it and let me use one of her LED’s. I was nervous but once I started, I had myself a ball.
Has anyone told you you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop?
Lol, no.
What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop?
I’ve acquired bruises all up and down my legs, arms, and hips. I’ve also hit myself all over my head… Nose, mouth, and ears (the worst)…
Have you ever hooped naked?
Once… J
Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one?
Never have but I believe it’d be one of the coolest things to do, and it’s on my bucket list!

I love my Blue-ray player so much, as it lets me watch YouTube videos through my TV. Thank God for my large living room too! I have been practicing inside for about 9 months now, and am feeling more confident about trying new things inside... I mean, breaking things is still a concern but I'm much more careful these days. So I decided to watch some Chest Roll tutorials, and I finally did one. Just one "real" "clean" chest roll, but I did it and I feel pretty…
