When did you first start hooping? August 2008

Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper? Intermediate

How often do you hoop? Was daily for the first few months, then 4-5 times a week, then just a few times a month, and now 2-5 times per week for the past few months.

Do you have an indoor hoop space? Sort of. I can hoop above my knees (above couch level) in my living room. And not indoors, but I can hoop on the roof of my apartment building, though I have to really be careful with tosses, especially if it's windy, lol.

Is there a hoop group where you live? Quite a few

Did you start it? Nope

Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping? Definitely

Have you posted hooping videos? How many? Yes, 3 short ones on my facebook page

Do you have friends nearby to hoop with? Yes

Do you teach hooping? If so, how many people have you taught? Not officially, just showed some friends the basics

What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping? Varies between dance/electronica/house and bluesy rock/pop. Also fun to hoop to reggae and rock-a-billy

What is your favorite song right now? Ahh! Too many - I like Kesha, Lady Gaga, Pink, and I keep coming back to old standby's like Gorillaz, Bassnectar, White Stripes, Maroon 5, Stray Cats, and random DJ mixes.

Do you buy hoops or make your own? Make them! :-)

Have you lost weight since starting to hoop? Yes, mostly it's diet, but hooping improves my overall health tremendously.

What size is your favorite hoop? 40" diameter, 3/4" thick, 100 psi. Large enough for core hooping, and (usually) light enough for off-body.

Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place? Yes!

How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today? All different classes

Who is your favorite hoop teacher? All of the wonderful, unique, brilliant teachers I've encountered - they are all my favorite.

What advice would you give to beginner hoopers? Just keep practicing - everything (EVERYTHING) comes with practice - and sooner than you think!

Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to? No, I would love to learn.

Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it? No, I would LOVE to have one.

How much time do you spend on Hoop City Hooping Community? Just joined today.

What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)? Neck hooping and lift up from neck to overhead roll (lasso)

What is the last trick you mastered? Shoulder breaks/reverses

What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn? So far, still trying to master that barrel roll, and spiraling back up from the knees has been extremely challenging, too.

Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get? See above, lol.

How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city? 200?

Have you performed hooping in front of an audience? Yes! As part of a short play I wrote/directed and performed in.

Has anyone told you you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop? Nope, not yet.

What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop? I recently grazed my eyeball and scraped the bridge of my nose when I missed a toss (no permanent damage), but the worst was a few months after I started, I was passing the hoop under my leg while kicking and I tore my gluteus maximus. It killed all over my lower back and leg for a whole month. I'm sure now to practice controlled vs. ballistic movement, and Always Stretch.

Have you ever hooped naked? Of course! :-)

Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one? Not yet - I really want to one day!
