My name is Kayla Dixon aka 'Dixie' and I discovered hooping while taking a pole dancing class. Weird. I know. That was October 2nd, 2010. :) I am 30 and am in school for Kinesology.
I've had lots of challenges; mental, physical, emotional. I've gone from being the type of person everyone wanted me to be to being who I wanted to be. I find peace in my plastic circle; escape, joy, calm. I wish I had discovered it sooner.
I used to take static trapeze class but had to discontinue due to money.
:*( I loved it and would love to start doing it again, but I don't see that happening in the future unless I have my own rig.

My first burn ever!!! I didn't know what to expect; I knew of course there would be tons of hoopers, tons of fire performers, and tons of really nice awesome people. Flipside surpassed anything I had ever imagined.
We got there early on Thursday morning...I'm kind of punctual like that, lol. We got a good spot camping, but after we were all set up we were told to move. We were both a bit angry, but were able to find a better spot across the…
The drum circle last night was amazing! I expected the normal amount of people to be there (20-30) but that had to of been 60 or more there! Lots of spring breakers had camped out in their rvs alongside the beach and they came out to see what the fuss was about.
All of the people made me very nervous. I didn't want to even fire hoop at all when I saw how many people were out there. So for awhile I played with my regular hoops. Finally I got the courage up (with some egging on by…
