When did you first start hooping?
I got my first hoop in fall of '09, but I only just started having way too much fun with it summer '10.

Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper?
Intermediate/advanced

How often do you hoop?
When I pick up my hoop I don't set it down for at least an hour, which I do as often as possible, but some days are so busy I don't have time, unfortunately.

Do you have an indoor hoop space?
No room at my house besides for my minis, but my lover's home has plenty of room :]

Is there a hoop group where you live?
No, there are hoopers, but no definite group.

Did you start it?

Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping?
At this moment I'm currently downstate without my hoop and I'm having major withdrawls.

Have you posted hooping videos? How many?
A couple, I'm prettttty camera shy.

Do you have friends nearby to hoop with?
I sure do.

Do you teach hooping? If so, how many people have you taught?
Nope.

What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping?
Anything I can feel that takes over my soul and moves my body effortlessly and gets my juices flowin'... Grateful Dead, Bassnectar, Vibrasphere, Iron & Wine, Funktion, Shpongle... jam bands, reggae, psychadelic, electronic, dubstep... anything super funky! :]

What is your favorite song right now?
Have A Cigar by Pink Floyd <---- that's my favorite to hoop to :]

Do you buy hoops or make your own?
I have some I've made and some I've bought.

Have you lost weight since starting to hoop?
I'm still working on that :] But yes, a little bit. It's my absolute favorite exercise, actually probably the only one I've ever liked haha.

What size is your favorite hoop?
31"

Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place?
Yes :] when I'm in my own little world I can do anything.

How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today?
Youtube, friends, my own imagination =)

Who is your favorite hoop teacher?
SaFire explains things VERY well, her tutorials have helped me a lot.

What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers
Practice, practice, practice, drop your hoop and always pick it back up! It's only the beginning :]

Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to?
Nope, I don't have a fire hoop and haven't tried it, but one day, hopefully soon :]

Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it?
I own a pair of minis that I got from my friends from Hoops Of Creation <--- they make lovely reliable hoops for reasonable and affordable prices!

What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)?
Vortex.. I feel like this was everyone's first trick haha. Simple and elegant :]

What is the last trick you mastered?
That crazy trick where you're holding the hoop with one hand and spin it 360 degrees

What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn?
I'm stillllllllll working on perfecting vertical chest hooping.

Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get?
Shimmying the hoop from waist to chest without my arms. Possible, but takes so much practice.

How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city?
When I made this hoop city and first did this survey I wrote 10 or less, now there's too many to count.

Have you performed hooping in front of an audience?
Nope

Has anyone told you you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop?
Never heard that one before.

What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop?
Probably a busted lip when I first tried a vertical step through spinning the hoop way to fast.. then smash, busted swollen lip.

Have you ever hooped naked?
Nope

Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one?
Unfortunately I have not. Someday!
