When did you first start hooping? October of 2009

Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper? 
I would say intermediate, I'm much better than I was this time last year, but I have alot to learn and plenty of room for growth.

How often do you hoop? EveryDay!!! I love it, I need to hoop at least 20 minutes a day to center myself.

Do you have an indoor hoop space? 
Theres a decent amount of space in our basement where i can do simple tricks and hooping, nothing too crazy though, Excited for the nice weather so i can hoop outside!

Is there a hoop group where you live? 
I wish, a few of my friends dabble with hooping and We try to hoop when we get together.

Did you start it?
No, but i should start one!

Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping? 
Yes, and so would anyone who knows me. haha

Have you posted hooping videos? How many?
Theres 2 videos friends have shot with me hooping in them, but nothing I planned out.

Do you have friends nearby to hoop with? 
Yes, even though alot of them are busy this time of year.

Do you teach hooping? If so, how many people have you taught? 
I've been helping my friends and i am thinking of teaching in the spring or maybe summer if theres enough interest.

What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping? 
All sorts, it depends on my mood. I usually choose pretty lights, shpongle, or entheogenic if i can't decide.

What is your favorite song right now? 
the ocean- by john butler.

Do you buy hoops or make your own? 
I make them, lots of them.

Have you lost weight since starting to hoop? 
Yes, but not too much, Im slender to begin with.

What size is your favorite hoop? 
1/2" tubing 38" diameter, its my new LED. But before my favorite was a 3/4" tubing 35" diameter.

Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place? Alone? 
I will hoop alone, in a crowd, on a stage, before my yoga class int he parking lot, at lunch during work... ANYWHERE with enough space.

How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today? 
Trial and error, a few were shown to me by other hoopers, but most of them i learned just by hooping and seeing what i could do.

Who is your favorite hoop teacher? 
I dont have one, I never had a teacher, and don't usually watch many tutorials.

What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers? 
Really get to know your hoop, the way it feels and curves with you. Just get comfortable using it.

Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to? 
I really really want to. My cousin just started and hopefully i can visit her and learn how.

Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it? 
Yes i do. I bought it from John, not sure of the last name, but i'll find out.

How much time do you spend on safiredance.ning? 
i've never heard of it.

What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)? 

Bringing the hoop up above my head.

What is the last trick you mastered?
the last trick i tried to learn is stepping through the hoop from left to right.... Im not very good at learning the tricks in reverse.

What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn? 
getting the hoop to rotate on one shoulder while my head is tucked under the hoop.

Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get? 
getting my leg back into the hoop after im hooping on one leg. Sometimes i get it, most times not.

How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city? 
my town? maybe 3.

Have you performed hooping in front of an audience? 
Not a real audiance who came to see me, but i have attracted a small crowd before.

Has anyone told you you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop? 
No, suprisingly not... but even if they did i wouldnt care.

What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop? 
just lots and lots of bruises. My first hoop was a 180 psi hoop, quite heavy.

Have you ever hooped naked? 
yep! its a totally differant feeling but i like it... I challenge myself to strip while hooping sometimes to make things interesting.

Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one? 
Sounds like fun, But havent been yet.
