How old are you? 33

When did you first start hooping? Bought my first hoop at the Wakarusa Festival in Lawrence KS the summer of 2008, but didn't really get into hooping until August 2009.

Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper? Beginner with a few tricks up my sleeve and a lot of dedication to practice.

How often do you hoop? It totally depends on work, my mood and the weather. I started off with an hour plus a day and now I've scaled back to a couple hours a week.
Winters suck!

Do you have an indoor hoop space? I have a small space indoors that allows me to do basics, but I love to hoop on my gigantic 4th floor balcony with the city view.

Is there a hoop group where you live? Hmm, there are groups of people who hoop....

Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping? Addicted.

Have you posted hooping videos? How many? A couple - posted to my FB, but not on here (files are too large)

Do you have friends nearby to hoop with? Yea, but not "close" friends. I typically go to shows and meet up with them and hoop at our regular bar (it's a huge place - perfect for hooping).

Do you teach hooping? No.

What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping? Drum & Bass, alternative, ambient, electronica, a little hip-hop.

Do you buy hoops or make your own? Buy - I don't have the time!

Have you lost weight since starting to hoop? Not sure, I'm thinking I've "toned"

What size is your favorite hoop? 36"'s and 40"'s - torn between them.

Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place? Yes. I had a strange run in with a crazy at the park, but it's all good.

How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today? Watching other hoopers and the internet.

Who is your favorite hoop teacher? Dont' have one yet - but just signed up for the online classes here!

What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers? Know that you'll get frustrated, and that it's ok. Everyone does. Just stick with it. You'll get it.

Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to? Nope. Fire that close to my body is an accident waiting to happen.

Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it? Yes, bought my first from AWorldAGlow and am waiting to get my second one from TrickConcepts.

How much time do you spend on safiredance.ning? Too much in the last three days since joining ;).

What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)? Lifting the hoop up from the back (waist) up to laso. Man, that took some practice!

What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn? the vortex and chest hooping (still working on those).

Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get? The vortex. I curse you vortex!

How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city? A handful.

Have you performed hooping in front of an audience? Well, I wouldn't say audience, I would say by-standers. At shows and festivals.

What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop? Funny enough, no major injuries. My hands are sore after repeated off the body arm/hand tricks.

Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one? Not yet, but I'm planning on Hoop Camp in 2010
