"I agree it depends on her shape.  I think 42" is a universally safe size for all plus size girls.   Only thing is if she decides to learn tricks the 42" will prove cumbersome.  Especially being only 4'…"

I would like to get certified in hooping so I can teach. I am determined to get this small town to smile more and have fun ;-) Allegan offers quite a bit for a small town, but hooping would be awesome for any age, here.

Welcome to hoop city!  I hope you find the classes as much fun and instructional as I have.  I just started in the fall and have been going slowly through the lesson plans.  I thought it would be a great way to  beat the winter blues - Although there has not been too much cold or snow at all!  I am still planning on coming out in April.  What do you hear about the class?  Happy to see you here...

I saw your comment on the teacher training page. There are distance trainings available through Hoopnotica, HoopGirl and my program available through Hoop City. From what I know Hoopnotica and HoopGirl both have a more fitness focused program than mine. My training is very open-ended, I offer information on marketing you classes, setting up a healthy learning environment and guiding group activities. I offer detailed lesson plans but also provide you with feedback on how to write your own lessons so you can customize the program to suite your needs. Let me know if you have any additional questions and feel free to message me directly about the detail of the program. If I was going to recommend any program based on your question other than my own I'd suggest Hoopnotica, I've heard their resources are excellent and they have collapsible hoops at discount for instructors. I don't have any products, instead there is a chapter and instructions on how to make you own hoops to sell to students.
