my journey (thus far)

I started hooping for fitness of few years ago, but really got serious after seeing an amazing hooper at StarScape '09 spinning an LED hoop. I had to have one! so after I got it, I started learning new movements and building strength. I hope that on my journey I will gain so much... a good, strong healthy body, confidence, and an ability to share my love of hooping. I have started making my own hoops and sharing them with friends and family. It's contagious, and everyone can do it, which makes it that much more awesome. I am so thankful for hooping. it really lifts my spirits. HUZZAH!

seeking flow and love

so I've been struggling lately with romantic relationships, or lack there of.  I have found hooping to be the best outlet for my frustration with my dating situation.  I've been single for a long time, but I thinking that I should start a love affair with myself and bring my hoop along for the ride.  But I will continue to date and hopefully not fall into the same old patterns.

7 minutes in heaven

I just hooped something fierce. still working on my torso and shoulders, but got really good at the knees to waist shimmy and going on and off the body is getting easier. and I've been practicing isolations daily. so my arms and shoulders are feeling it!

I needed inspiration to move today and I'm thankful that my hoop was there when I needed it. I jammed to some Nero and it really felt like 7 minutes in heaven!

today I realized what a saving grace hooping is. I was so discouraged, frustrated, upset this afternoon and I really felt hopeless. I reminded myself that I could hoop when I got home. And I did. WOW. I felt so much better while I was in the circle. Moving my body, working things out, releasing the pain... I found new strength. I am so grateful for my hoops now. I loved them before but this new feeling brings me so much more. Problems aren't solved but things are definitely made…

I am still learning and finding my center, but I'm feeling more and more comfortable inside the hoop. I don't learn tricks as fast as I would like, but I'm practicing daily. I'm sure I will feel better in coming months.



I wish I could pinpoint when I really started hooping. everyone on here has a hoopaversary, If I was really keeping track I guess it would be when I received my LED hoop. when was that exactly? Late spring of 2010 I guess. I think I'm gonna pick June 6th as my start…

Thanks for the friendship request Wowi! I am doing the 30/30 Hoop challenge as well. I hoop almost every day but have really started taking it seriously when I decided I wanted to get certified with Hoopnotica so I have been trying to really focus. The challenge came at the perfect time since my certification in Feb 5 and 6th. Good luck with the challenge!!

Hi chucktown hooper! Not sure where you're located exactly in Charleston but there will be a hooping play-date on Saturday night on Folly Beach. There's a little area on center street where there are craft vendors and one of the girls, Kristin, is going to have a hoop gathering. I'll probably late but it starts around 6 and goes until 9ish. Let me know if you want more info!
