 Just wanted to let you know that I host free hoop jams at Laurel Park near Marietta Square. They're twice a month on Sundays from 4 - 5:30 p.m. The next one is this Sunday the 28th, it will be French music-themed, and the Marietta Daily Journal is planning to cover the event. Our local hooping instructor (Baila Hoops) generally attends the hoop jams AND every time you attend you can enter for a chance to win a custom hoop.

I'm from Alabama!! I will have to move back there after I graduate from grad school this March to search for a big girl job. :) I'll be temporarily moving back to Huntsville, AL. Where does your friend live?

It's ok that you've never hooped before I started hooping just a year ago and now I'm completely addicted!!! I do it for physical activity too... since most of my day includes sitting. My advice is to get a GOOD hoop, if you don't already have one. (I have one from Slyk Style Hoops that I looove. Their ads is in the right hand bar) Watch lots of video tutorials (that's where I learned EVERYTHING!) Safire has lots of good ones on YouTube for beginners if you can't afford her online classes on this site. And practice, practice, practice. one day you'll be frustrated with a new move and then a suddenly... BAM! you've got it. (that was the addicting part for me.)

Hey! welcome to hoop city. :) I'm in Atlanta till March if you would like to get together and hoop sometime. Also there a place around little 5 that has classes on Sundays. Check out superhooper.org, it's a local hoop group. hope to talk to ya soon.
