"Hey there Abby!I live in Olathe,ks and there is a huge group of spinners in KC,MO and Lawrence,KS as long as you don't mind the drive. Below are links to the weekly spin jams. Feel free to friend me on facebook too!
Every Sunday 6-8pm in…"
"In the veterinary medicine field (I would imagine human as well but I can't confirm that) we will use manuka honey for burns sometimes combined with raw sugar. I've seen it do amazing things in extreme burn cases of kittens hiding in…"
"I was told if you don't run the battery down and you recharge like that it's making it more dangerous. More likely to catch fire. Well then, the more you know. Thank you for your response on this, clarifies things.
I'll keep an eye…"
"Trustfire's been more reliable than most for me. Capacities are overstated by most of the cheap generics in particular, and there are a lot of counterfeits out there. The Trustfire 900 mAh batteries I've tested have lasted…"
"I've been looking for a better company than trustfire. Mainly because it's cheap and catches fire. All I've been seeming is batteries from china that are low quality. I've been seen more hoopers complain about batteries short…"
"What have you got against Li-ion batteries? They're the lightest and highest energy density rechargeables commonly available. And better than alkalines for the environment.
They do have a tendency to heat up and even catch fire if…"
"Putting solar panels in the hoop itself isn't really practical for a number of reasons - not the least of which is that both HDPE and polypropylene tend to degrade in sunlight and keeping your hoop out is a bad idea. There's also…"
"Weight and bulk is the first thing that comes to mind. But how about a hoop that is MADE out of PV cells, now that's an idea!
Or the LEVI hoop that is strictly for illusion, cause it would be super heavy. A hoop with magnets inside and…"
"Hi Martika! I totally agree that some innovation in the LED hoop space needs to happen. Scott, the creator of this post has discussed some of the difficulties of solar charged hoops, specifically the constant contact would ruin the panels.…"
I have had this idea since I started hooping in 2010. It would be wonderful for LED hula hoop makers, If they have not started trying in secret already, making LED hoops that recharge with the sun, with a simple solar panel. This is already available in a roll up pad for cell phones and ipods. Would save hoopers money in batteries, a big plus to the environment, and it would actually be a new hoop invention in the community. Having a hoop that can do a different pattern or have 100 more modes…See More

So I totally met you last year at wakarusa! I believe we were under the Revival Tent (with the lit up 'planets' hanging from the ceiling). I felt like a dumbass because I left my hoops at the campsite and then I noticed you hooping (wonderfully of course) and I asked to borrow one of your hoops. And you did :D You were too busy doing your thang when I finished, so here's finally my chance to tell you: Thank for letting me borrow your hoop :)
And you're gunna be there again this year, am I correct? Sporting the knee brace and all. Whatta champ! You should bedazzle the crap out of it, haha.
It's just low density tubing. I'd really like to try polypro but as you can see with currency conversion and shipping it's a really big investment for something that I'm not sure if I'll like. I really want to buy a new fire hoop but I don't want hdpe since I'm finding it too rigid, so I wanted to try a polypro one. Though maybe if I tried a thinner hoop OD... thanks for the info though, I'll most likely buy a polypro within the coming week or so (:
Hey! I see you sell polypro hoops-- how much do you reckon it would cost to ship to New Zealand? Also since I've never been able to experiment with polypro before (can't find it anywhere here...) so would like to know if they're anything like LDPE? I'm finding HDPE hoops too rigid now, but my LDPE hoop is too flexible... do you think polypro is in the middle? (though not like mdpe...) Sorry it's hard for me to word this question haha. Thanks (:
