So I'm past the one year mark, and although I mostly (95% of the time) hoop alone and only learn from stuff I get online, I've progressed pretty well. Of course, Safire's classes and the awesome community on hoopcity really helps!! Now I'm really interested in trying to teach, and here's my thoughts on how prepared I need to be in order to be confident that I can do a great job (cuz only doing a good job isn't my thing ;))

Yesterday was very exciting/nerve racking for me as I had a chance to perform a hoop dance for the public for the first time. As I prepared for this, I decided that although I'm very comfortable with my flow and love to improv with the hoop, I should choreograph the dance. This was an interesting challenge for me, which started with looking at some of my favorite videos of performances; most notably "Safire in the sun", Spiral's and Shakti Sunfire's performances at flow show 2010. I did not succeed in learning hooping. I did not have enough space a my handmade hoop was too heavy, because i could not buy a suitable hose for it. Was you able to make a hoop with czech sources? At the beginning of next year I am moving from Prague, but just to Kolín (it is quite near). There I will have enough space, so I was thinking to try hooping again. I would definitely like to join your group, but I don´t think I would be very helpful.

I come from CZ, but live in Switzerland. I bought once the tubing from Hornbach in Prague, but it is quite heavy and difficult to connect together. Sorry, don't have more advise. What I do here is that I buy the tubing from local plumber company, they usually give me few meters for free. Did you check this forum? maybe you'll find more info there:
