About Me :)
How old are you?March 25, 1989
When did you first start hooping?
May 2010
Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper?
I don't think I'll ever stop learning, so I'll just say I'm in an eternal "learning" stage.
How often do you hoop?
I try for every day, be it a few hours or just a minute or two. Of course, sometimes life gets in the way - like the sky just dropped four feet of snow on you, or you packed up and moved 1,000 miles south, but still.
Do you have an indoor hoop space?
I'll always be trying to find one!
Is there a hoop group where you live?
Wherever I am, I try to start one or find one, and it usually works.
Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping?
That's putting it mildly.
Have you posted hooping videos? How many?
Oh, so many. I film everything I try on the off-chance that I get it right, and I always recommend it. Being able to watch myself helps so much.
Do you have friends nearby to hoop with?
I've gotten a few friends into it, and it's so rewarding when they become as addicted as I am.
Do you teach hooping? If so, how many people have you taught?
I've taught children's classes at summer camps and community centers, and hope to break into the freelance hoop-teaching business soon.
What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping?
Everything from the Beatles to Bjork.
What is your favorite song right now?
This answer changes so frequently that I'll just go ahead and not respond to it.
Do you buy hoops or make your own?
I make my own!
Have you lost weight since starting to hoop?
A little. I believe getting more toned and developing more muscle is a bigger side-effect than weight loss. My arms and stomach muscles are definitely more jacked.
What size is your favorite hoop?
My polypro is 36", and I use that most often and love it, but I try to mix up hoop sizes.
Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place?
Getting more and more comfortable with it!
How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today?
The internet is a marvelous thing! Playing around, watching tutorials....I recently decided that I was going to figure out a trick on my own without watching anything. I've almost got it!
Who is your favorite hoop teacher?
My favorite hooper is Hoopalicious, I've never had a hoop teacher before, but she's one of my biggest inspirations, along with OmWoods, who has the most incredible flow and attitude I've ever seen. Also, just other hoop friends in the City, they're so amazingly supportive and all such inspirations.
What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers?
Patience! Sometimes I get mad at myself when I'm not getting something, but it's such a bad idea to bring negativity into the hoop. Let it be about positive energy :)
Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to?
I have fire hooped, and hopefully will be purchasing quick wicks soon. My boyfriend needs to learn how to be my safety :)
Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it?
I own a polypro LED that my friend's friend made for $50. It was a prototype for a CT-based hoop store, We Sell Hoops. Check out WeSellHoops.com!
What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)?
The helicopter :)
What is the last trick you mastered?Again, this answer changes so frequently.....I like to be in a never-ending stage of learning, so there's rarely a moment when I'm not trying to master something new. I was most proud of leg and chest hooping, as they both took me a really long time to learn, and now I've moved into the more complicated off-body tricks.
What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn?
Chest hooping. For some reason it just didn't click with me for a really long time.
Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get?
Nothing is impossible! I hope...
How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city?
No clue. Hopefully the community grows every day
Have you performed hooping in front of an audience?
Yes.....audiences tend to form around you when you're hooping. I've hooped at live shows, in front of my hoop classes, or just on the street. It's fun, weird, and nerve-wracking, but I think a good thing to do.
Has anyone told you you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop?
Not once they've seen me doing it!
What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop?
Just for the fun of it, I decided to hoop around my forehead. OUCH. OUCH MY FACE. DON'T TRY THAT.
Have you ever hooped naked?
Yes, and it was liberating!
Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat?
WildFire Spring 2011 - what an amazing experience.

OMG I'm so happy you found me!!! How are you love?
It's weird to know that I miss you too, despite having never met or talked properly :)
It's like you've been to Rome already and I can't wait for you to be back. I'm gonna "hoop the hell out of you" :)
