How old are you? 25
When did you first start hooping? Halfway into March of 09
Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper? I dunno really what this means haha.....everyone has their own unique hooping style :)
How often do you hoop? At first I hooped CONSTANTLY! Now im very busy and I hoop whenever I can fit it in! I would say on average five hours a week.
Do you have an indoor hoop space? Kind of...I can do on the body stuff but I just feel trapped so I bought a membership to four seasons to practice when its nasty out :)
Is there a hoop group where you live? nope but im sure there will be soon :)
Did you start it? workin on it!
Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping? DUH! Arent we all!
Have you posted hooping videos? I have been keeping my progress since two weeks in!! So yes I have lots haha
Do you have friends nearby to hoop with? Yes! My soul sister Suzanne :) and we are spreading the hoop love here in our town!
Do you teach hooping? We teach it to anyone that wants to learn and are starting a Hoop Dance Fitness class through Heartland Community College here in town!
What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping? Where there is music I can hoop! I love all different types!
What is your favorite song right now? I cant say a I have a fav song but my most recent music exposer has been to psytrance and downbeat electic stuff......LOVE IT!
Do you buy hoops or make your own? I buy some....led fire but I make my own regular hoops!
Have you lost weight since starting to hoop? I have the body of a little kid haha but I have noticed that im getting more tone!
What size is your favorite hoop?I have ALL sizes! I have small ones for fast jammin and twin play and larger ones for slow motions spinning!
Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place? It depends on my mood...I usually feel a little weird but if I get really into it I dont notice or care :)
How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today? I watch TONS of youtube videos and dissect the moves! Also Safire is a life saver for the moves I cant figure out....or to just get them down more comfortably.... im in like every one of her classes. Hoopnotica videos are great too!
Who is your favorite hoop teacher? I like to try and learn from EVERYONE thats possible...so far Safire Caroleena Hoopnotica and all of the hoopers that post videos :)
What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers? WHO CARES WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE...have fun.....and dropping your hoop means your learning and getting extra exercise haha

Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it? Yes I got it from headyhoops which I love because he sends a wall charger and car charger so you dont have to worry about batteries!
How much time do you spend on safiredance.ning? Oh its ridiculous really haha
What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)? neck hooping and chest hooping
What is the last trick you mastered? elbows behind the back horizontal!
What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn? that dang duck in really makes me frustrated! I still cant get it smoothly!
Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get? Well I can reverse hoop on the knees and take my foot out and break and reverse but I cant get going again in the other direction after that! I swear some peeps are just insanely good!
How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city? A few but growing!!
Have you performed hooping in front of an audience? Yes and its sooo fun!
Has anyone said you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop? Sometimes people will say i cant do that.....thats for kids.....ohhhh excuses people make lol
What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop? hmmm i havent really damaged anything to bad...I wacked my toe nail really hard once and broke it. Oh and I fell on my butt really hard but it was funny....and I got it on tape! hahaha
Have you ever hooped naked? Ohhhhhh yea! Its the best....."hey baby look at me teeehehee"
Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one? I went to a Hoop Path class in Chicago that was AMAZING!

Im just going to vent here because no body else understands how heartbroken I am. I bought a 200 dollar LED hoop a while ago that was stolen. I finally pushed my limits and bought another 200 dollar led hoop from cosmic hooper and received it last weekend in the mail. I have been doing nothing but working morning and night almost everyday yet somehow still slipping more and more in debt. I needed this for my passion. I have been feeling a little down lately from all the busy days Iv had and realized I havent made a hoop video in so long! I also havent been able to just groove in a big space with flat ground in a few weeks since my class has ended and I wont start another until sept :( I have like fifty videos which seems to be kind of ridiculous for those people who have just discovered them all at once. First Hoop Path Experience!!

So this weekend I went to my first Hoop Path workshop in Chicago! It was such a great experience! Bein used to the small town livin I had a huge smack to the face when pulled into the public transportation journey for the first time lol! I know its embarrassing...im 25 and have never planed trips on a train or a bus! So I was really scared trying to get on the orange line....to the blue line..... to the bus stop and finally.............ahhhh the dance studio haha ;)

So me and my wonderful friend Suzanne just started up a Sunday Spin Day at our local park! This past sunday was the first and it went sooo well! We had quite a few girls show up to hoop and a group full of amazing drummers and guitarists to play music for us! I had so much fun!
The only thing that bothers me (and I know I shouldn't let it but I cant help it)are all the ignorant fearful people out there that immediately degrade something new to them!

I had another twilight moment hooping today :) It was a hot day but still had a nice breeze. I grabbed my hoops and went outside to play. I just made a REALLY big hoop and decided to test it out. OMG it was amazing! All the moves I have been trying to get down with my regular hoops just smoothly made their way into my free flow dancing. I put some Ani Difranco on and took my shoes off!
