Warming up tips?

How long do you guys warm up and do you recommend any specific moves? I've been making sure to warm up, I just don't know if there are any good warm ups to follow.

I have the hand motions of the Vortex down, but my hoop is ALL OVER THE PLACE. Spinning, rather than standing, helps with some momentum but it's still pretty wonky. I know I just learned it today,…

Shimmying from waist to chest no hands.

Posted on November 26, 2011 at 5:43pm 4 Comments

I finally figured out the movements. ^.^ I also figured out how to bump the hoop up from my knees. I can't get it to shimmy from there yet, but after practicing getting it from my waist to my chest I was really really tired.

I still want to practice but I'm just dripping in sweat and my knees are all bruised up. I'll go back out before bed or something.

Hope everyone else has as great a day as I am!

Leg hooping.

Posted on November 25, 2011 at 1:01am 0 Comments

I can finally keep it going. However, I can only drop it from my waist and keep it going maybe half of the time so I guess that's what I'm working on tomorrow.

I'm so in love.

Every trick is like a new tool to express myself. Another way to move, another way to feel. It's pretty amazing.

I didn't think I'd ever enjoy a physical activity. My feel like I'm advancing fast. It's cool because I can get antsy if I don't make progress. So it's nice…

I learned a bunch of tricks today!

Posted on November 22, 2011 at 1:02am 3 Comments

I got the shimmy down, arm duck in/arm things, head duck outs and the shoulder duck out(I think that's what it's called.)

Still haven't gotten leg hooping yet. Tomorrow I just want to practice what I've learned to far until I can do it with my eyes closed.

Nailed chest hooping!

Posted on November 17, 2011 at 9:27pm 2 Comments

Well kind of nailed it. I can keep it up for awhile. I have to be spinning for it to keep going, but that's ok.

I can hoop around my knees a bit but not around the lower thigh area. I don't know it I'm moving too fast or too slow or not making the right motions...

How do you guys keep the hoop above your knees?

You can watch me make a fool of myself here: http://www.youtube.com/rebeccadarling111
