I gets tons of e-mail on a daily basis so please search the forums and groups to find answers to your questions before sending me a message. There is information about hoops and hooping available through out Hoop City and this community was created to help hoopers connect and share that knowledge.
When did you start hooping? I started spinning poi and hoop in 2006.
What kind of hoops do you use? I've had a lot of different kind of hoops over the years. Right now I am enjoying 3/4 inch polypro tubing for my practice hoops. I use psi hoops for my LED hoops, they have 1 Circuit, 33 inches in diameter, have 7/8" HDPE tubing, with AAA Batteries and sanded on the inside. My fire hoops are from Cosmic Fire Dance. They are the model with removable wicks.
How old are you? I was born on October, 26th, 1983.
How much do you practice? I used to practice 4 hours a day (about an hour each session) now I practice randomly in 5 minute increments or for 4 hours at a time at festivals and retreats.
What size is your favorite hoop? Right now I'm playing with 33" and 34" hoops and using 20" minis.
How did you learn to hoop dance? I am self-taught and have only recently had the opportunity learn from others since starting to teach at hoop retreats.
What advice would you give to beginner hoopers? Keep at it and keep smiling. Also check out my Love the Process video for more general hooping tips.

I'm definitely going to purchase your online classes - I am way too ADD to try and find tutorials online - thank you so much for putting this together lol.
Just wanted to say thank you for everything you do! :)
Yep, my poi is understanding and doesn't get jealous. Likewise, my hoop understands my poi was there first. My fans and torches are apathetic to the whole matter. lol. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. Hope to see you put out a poi video soon XD
Hey there, saw your comment over on my poi video! Thanks for taking a look at my stuff :) I take my spinning really seriously and I'm always working hard to improve my level. I stopped doing poi for a while because I went through some intense training after living in Japan for 2 years and it kind of put a bad taste in my mouth because it was super competitive, which is the main reason why I ditched poi for hoop. But now that I'm back in the States, I'm starting to play poi again. I dunno, poi was my first fire love so I hook up with it occasionally. So I guess my hoop and I are in an open relationship? LOL.
I don't know about you, but when I feel stagnant with my hoop, I'll pick up poi or fans (or even a little staff) and play around just because hoop is like a fusion of every spin art. I'd love to see what you can do with a set of fire poi. Please make a video and link me to it! I'd love to see how your poi style from days of yore shows in your hooping style! Happy holidays :) Sarah (D'arcy Decadence)
I notice in your pics you have fire wicks...i currently breathe fire but im working on eating it but my wicks are too big...where do you get yours??? any help would be appreciated
