Samm, I sent you a message, and I just saw you are at a friend's party tonight, which may be why you haven't responded.  Just want to be sure you know the jam tomorrow is off.  I'm sick and can't host; wish I could, but no one would want to be around me right now. :(

I have to agree about only going during the day.  Back during Halloween there was a Marine that was stabbed (in uniform for heavens sake) and since then the military is kind of shady of that area.  I have a cousin who works down there and he even dislikes being out at night. I prefer going to the museums, aquarium, zoo, etc down there now rather than hitting up burb. street or french quarter.  I got that out of my system a long time ago.

For Saturday make sure you bring some of your music...we tend to play all types...slow, fast, country, rock, hip hop, electronica, etc.  I myself prefer electronica because I can just feel myself melt into the beat of the music and I feel totally free.

Oh crap..I just realized the Drum Circle was last night.  I have the worst memory...

I was going to hit up bonaroo this year too, but I will have to see not only money wise where I am but where the Navy is with my disability stuff. That sucks about voodoo fest though...I guess it really doesn't surprise me either.  I'm not a big fan of new orleans as much as I was when I first moved out here.  There are just too many terrible people and terrible things happening down there. I figured the music wasn't going to be everything I wanted to hear either...I just can't get into hooping to much hip hop or rock. I guess I need to find some more festivals that are nearby...I know Austin just had Freezerburn...it was their winter burn event. I don't even know if LA or AL have any others.

I would kill to go to Burning Man, but I am always broke (more now since I am losing my Navy military job) and it is so far away. If you get to go, I will be so jealous. :)

It's Austins Burning Man...It happens at the end of May and is 4 days....it costs about 90 a person, but there is a catch.  To get in you have a one week span (this week, actually) to mail in an envelope (that must be decorated to even be considered) with a money order and order form.  They will only choose 2,470 people to attend...I am dying, dying to go because my cousin says it is amazing.
