When did you first start hooping? Spring '11

Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper? I'm most definitely a beginner.

How often do you hoop? Every day. :)

Do you have an indoor hoop space? Not really, though I do make an impressive attempt at clearing the living room of any hazards.

Is there a hoop group where you live? I'm sure there is, but I'm not yet aware of one.

Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping? Indeed! I often find myself picturing what hoop choreography I can do when I hear a good jam. I'm usually daydreaming about hooping; I think many here experience the same.

Have you posted hooping videos? Unfortunately, I have yet to purchase a technological device that has recording capabilities. :(

Do you have friends nearby to hoop with? My roommate is just getting into hooping, as well.

Do you teach hooping? No, but I would love to one day when I have honed my skills.

What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping? A plethora. I really enjoy Beats Antique, Massive Attack, Mindless Self Indulgence, Orbital, Sneaker Pimps, The Prodigy, Thievery Corporation, and really anything that has a good solid beat or melody.

What is your favorite song right now? Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps

Do you buy hoops or make your own? I currently buy, but I'm just about ready to start making my own.

Have you lost weight since starting to hoop? Hehe, I'm tiny as it is, so if anything I'd like to gain muscle mass, which would increase my weight.

What size is your favorite hoop? Mmm, I think it may be around 36 inches.

Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place? I just recently started hooping, but as soon as I get a few skills under my belt I'd love to start hooping in public.

How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today? YouTube tutorials make all the difference in the world!

Who is your favorite hoop teacher? SaFire; I love watching her tutorials.

What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers? We must start wherever we are, for if we don't start somewhere then we will be nowhere.

Do you fire hoop? Not yet, but I hope to!

Do you own an LED hoop? No, but it's on my list.

How much time do you spend on hoopcity? A decent amount of time. :)

What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)? I learned very quickly how to hoop with my arms inside the hoop as well as how switch hands while doing the halo.

What is the last trick you mastered? Hooping around my neck.

What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn? Well, since I'm just beginning I'll fill this one out at a later date.

Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get? I'll try not to be too bashful about this one, but I'm really struggling with bringing the hoop from my waist to my shoulders and/or neck. I find it sooo hard to get the shimmy down, which is baffling me because I've been belly dancing for over a year now.

How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city? Phew, I would guess a good number; I live in a major city.

Have you performed hooping in front of an audience? One day :)

Has anyone told you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop? No.

What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop? I keep developing a nasty bruise on my left hip. That sucker smarts.

Have you ever hooped naked? No, lol.

Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Unfortunately, I have not, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
