Colorado Connections

Hello, hello! My family and I are traveling west from Missouri and hope to spend a week camping in Colorado before we meet up with family in Oregon. We're looking to connect with other families. Also looking for advice on secluded, multi-day camping locations either on the cheap or free. I've found a lot of information on blogs and freecamping.com, but it's kind of overwhelming. I'd love some personal connections, input, and feedback. Thank you so much!Blessed be!~Heather HughesSee More

What year did you start hooping? (e.g. 2003)

Who is your hoop mamma or papa? (The person who introduced you to hooping)
Luna Breeze
Who's hoop style do you love? i.e. Who inspires you?
My local hoop friends are a constant reminder that hooping isn't always about movement and grace. It's about making connections, geeking out, and spinning up some love.
What is your goal for 2014 and why is it important? (Doesn't have to be hoop related.)
Expand my range of movement with double hoops. I'd love to attend a national/regional hooping event as well.

I grow light:
the flesh falls from my bones.
Now.
The sea rises through the channels
of my spine.
Now.
The sky rolls through the bed
of my veins.
Now.
The sun! The sun!
Its last rays
envelop me,
push me:
I am a spindle
I spin, spin, spin, spin!

Flow Journal #1

Amazing dances happen when I forget to move my hands “out of the way".

The actual mass of the hoop is very small. A thin ring of plastic with space in the center. Too often when I start moving my arms, I focus on getting them out, up, and over the circumference of the hoop. Once they’re out of the ring, I feel safe to dance and pose. I enact my gestures in the limited space outside the hoop’s circumference. This is basic chest hooping that's evolved through Hoopalicious’s…

I like what you said in the Spinning Witches about using your hoop to open a circle, I've never thought of that!
