i have named my hoops and i love them both.

Just a quick update on progress, i have a few videos to come: Can get shoulder hooping for a while, still needs fine tuning, can do the escalator, shimmying is now perfect. can step out of leg hooping but not back in haha. I AM SO HAPPY ALL THE TIME WITH HOOPING HGA;KLDSJAKLSJR!See More

FINALLY

So I got my SUPER AMAZING COLLAPSIBLE RAINBOW HOOP from Stellar Sunshine (:D:D) and was able to bring it to the gym today. There was a studio available to use until 430, so I stole in there, slapped my ipod on and within seconds i was all over the place! I was able to really move around and work on technique, and about halfway through i decided to try shimmying again. "well i should also be getting a new, lighter hoop entirely covered in grip tape, so hopefully that'll help. i definitely made the most spectacular mess yesterday after i let my hoop go mid lasso and knocked over a coffee cup. awesomesauce."

okay! so i've been wondering if maybe i hoop too close to my actual knee cap because i can't for the LIFE of me bring my hoop back up! and after MANY bruises and some very uncomfortable encounters with certain piercings, i can finally (maybe 2 out of 4 times) shimmy the hoop from waist to neck! it's now the question of trying to maintain neck hooping (very uncomfortable) and or trying to learn chest hooping, which is hard what with the inclusion of the arms. still. i forgot how much i liked…See More

Okay! So i've successfully learned:



simple isolation

leg hooping

floating

bow/pot stirring

some sort of pseudo-vortex

duck in

jump through

weave





difficulties-

shimmying *transitional from legs to waist, waist to chest*

neck hooping (shoulder issues?)

walking and hooping (haha, this is where my issues lie-being a multitasker)

flow?



still, for like...3 weeks in i'm doing better than i expected, but…

well i just figured out this trick by accident, mainly after trying something pete was doing at the last hoop class. it's an isolation that you kinda stick your head into and then jump through and then you flick your hand into a toss behind you after it it's really cool but in-progress at the moment. i usually start with isolations and just stick myself into it and spin that around rofl but there are endless ways just gotta get the flow!

yeah the SaFire tutorials are great but I always like figuring things out on my own than a tutorial, more of an accomplishment but when I was starting hooping I begged my dad to get me a huge roll of the tubing at home depot, ended up getting one of the 10ft cut outs and I learned with that! Then I realized why people don't just get the pieces because they're straight and it ended up turning into a tear drop rather than a hoop but it was still something to work with, make your own!
