Happy Birthday fellow Hooper! Hope it's a good one :)

Classes are on Wed from 6:30-7:30 for beginners, 7:45 for intermediate, and you get a free class with purchase of a hoop. It's at the Beddington community center. I think they're $15 drop in or 7 weeks for $80 but I think that included the other night. I may or may not drop in next week but can't after that as I start Burlesque dancing the week after on Wed nights. Now THAT is a super fun class! I think Kelly said she's going to start the next round of classes at the end of summer (?) so I think I'll end up doing that when the burlesque is over and my schedule is a bit more open. Oh, and my new hoop is pearl, black, and green. Unlike my last one which is an unfortunate mix of orange, purple, and puke. Not really my taste. This one is much happier!!
Too bad you're not with your cats right now. Are you living by yourself? I'm confused:( Maybe I'm being too nosy! Ha! I've thought more about poutine in the last couple days than I have in years. I may actually have to go get some. Oh dear!

Went to the class last night and was finally able to pick up my new hoop. It is like night and day compared to my last one!! I don't get hurt while practicing anymore...my last one was SO heavy! The classes are on Wed nights in Beddington if you're interested. I did the beginner and it was pretty much how to do reversals, and transferring from your waist up, or in air down. It was fun though!
A&W doesn't sound too bad. Do you at least get cheap food?! I love the poutine. It's so gross but so delicious:) Do you have cats or are the furballs dogs? I have neither, can't seem to get around to doing that with a little one too.
How's the park lately? Shouldn't be raining this weekend so there'll probably be lots of people down there. I'll be in my backyard this weekend hiding behind my trees so people don't see my crappy skills. Haha!

I ordered a new hoop the other day so I'm very excited! I got it from Hoop-di-do. Have you heard of that? The lady's name is Kelly and I think she's out of Airdrie. She makes hoops and holds hooping classes. I'm also heading to a class in a couple weeks to see how I do...I think it's in Beddington. Thanks for the youtube link. I will do that one day, but maybe when I need more hoops!
So, what coffee shop do you work at, or are you working right now? Hopefully it's working out for you. I've had my share of 'roommate situations' too so you're not alone. Currently, I'm a stay at home mom to my 2 year old so nothing too thrilling! Do you hoop with any of your friends or mainly solo?

The hoop I have is made by someone local, but I don't remember their name. I don't think I even took a business card actually. I think I'm going to figure how to make my own as mine's so heavy it's causing a bit of pain in places, but it may be my lack of skill. It's filled with water--maybe that's my issue. Do you know how heavy yours is?
So what kind of job do you do? Seems like you moved jobs and houses...busy, busy. Thank goodness it's warm out! Maybe I'll venture outside for some space.

Hi Casey, Riley park sounds awesome. I missed the collective too because I was so busy this weekend. I was going to ask, where did you get your hoop from and do you have more than one? I'd like to get one that is bit smaller/lighter because I think it might be a bit easier for me to learn things on it.

Market Collective is a collection of crafters/artists that come together to sell their stuff. There's music and and a pretty cool photo booth where you can get your picture taken, and I think it is held every 3 or 4 months in Kensington. The last one was where I actually got my hoop from! The next one is on May 1&2nd. There's a facebook group with more info if you're interested.
So, you just moved a couple weeks ago? How do you like it near Marlborough? I'm pretty south, quite close to the Southland Leisure Centre.

I pretty much just started. I bought a hoop at Market Collective (have you been?) a while back but just got around to getting on here to learn some moves. I don't have any cats but it's still pretty tough to do indoors without being kind of cramped. Hopefully I'll be able to get out soon when it gets a bit warmer. Where in the city do you live?
