back in the saddle

the last couple of months have been pretty crappy. i was working a job that left me incredibly stressed out every day and had made my anxiety in general almost unbearable. i lost interest in a lot of things, unfortunately hooping was one of the them.

so, i finally worked up the courage and quit my job. now i work for an engineering firm and couldn't be happier :) i feel productive all day, and like i'm actually contributing to the business instead of just sitting at a desk tied to a…

so i finally figured out one-shoulder hooping last night!

let me confess this before i go on: i have most of my hooping breakthroughs when i've got a bit of a buzz going. i think it's because i'm loosened up physically, and i'm more interested in having fun and not worrying so much about how OMG i suck at hooping.

anyways, so the boyfriend and i took the dog out so he could run around and do his business while we played with our respective big kid toys (my hoop and his…

i give up.

on knee hooping, that is. i have tried and tried...with jeans on, fleece pants, scarves tied around my kness...but i can only knee hoop for 5 seconds at the most. i'm not hooping on my actual knee, but slightly above it and it's still killing the outside of my legs. i can't seem to get the hoop to raise either. i've tried it with my lightest, biggest hoop and still nothing.

every other hooping move i have had trouble with in the past i've been able to practice…

-Working on flow (which FINALLY seems to be coming together)...

-I figured out how to transition from the shoulder pop (the first part of the move) into vertical chest hooping which is super duper exciting since I've knocked myself in the face a few times trying :)

-Trying to get motivated to make some hoops, but it seems like all the tape I get from Identi-tape falls apart :\

-Thinking about making a hoop video but that's really on the bottom of my list…

Ch-ch-ch-changes...

Today I applied for enrollment at my local community college to start their Addictions Counseling program which I am super excited about :)

I already have a bachelor's, but I'm not too keen on grad school quite yet and I'm incredibly interested in chemical dependency treatment and all the upcoming (hopefully positive!) policy changes that are going to occur within this field thanks to Mr. O.

I am so excited to be starting this new chapter in my life, and continuing to move…

I use half inch (measured from the outside of the tube) superpex / pex/ aquapex, for all of my hoops (I think it may only be available in Canada). They're super light, thin, and kind of irritating, but it sure is easy to whip them around!

thank you for your sweet comment on my dance :) Have you tried kneed hooping again recently? It was really hard for me to learn too but once I figured it out I put up two different videos focusing on ideas that helped me learn.......hopefully they can put some new perspectives in view for you knee hooping! <3
