When did you first start hooping? October 2010

Would you call yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced hooper? Super beginner! But I'm loving every minute of it (except maybe getting smacked in the face. It's funny, but I'm not a huge fan)!

How often do you hoop? Every day, but maybe for only 20 minutes or so. Sometimes up to 2 hours.

Do you have an indoor hoop space? I wish!

Is there a hoop group where you live? There's the Hoopjam down at the Lighthouse every Sunday, but I haven't gone yet. I'm a little shy!

Did you start it? Nope! I think people have been hooping in Santa Cruz longer than I've been alive. It seems like such a natural part of it.

Would you say that you are obsessed with or addicted to hooping? So far, obsessed!

Have you posted hooping videos? How many? None yet. I'm scared to! :p

Do you have friends nearby to hoop with? Sweet Hoops up in SF! But no one in SC just yet. Hopefully I'll get to know some of the people in my hoop class. I guess my boyfriend counts? He's a secret hoop superstar!

Do you teach hooping? If so, how many people have you taught? I do not.

What kind of songs do you listen to while hooping? Whatever pops up. I like to listen to my iPod on shuffle. But my favorites so far are Daft Punk, Radiohead and Santigold.

What is your favorite song right now? Creator - Santigold

Do you buy hoops or make your own? Buy, but I'd love to learn to make my own!

Have you lost weight since starting to hoop? Hahaha I don't think so.

What size is your favorite hoop? Both of my hoops are 38" 100psi and I love them dearly.

Are you comfortable hooping by yourself in a public place? Not at all! XD

How did you learn the majority of the tricks you know today? My teacher Heather Troy and Youtube videos. I just got Cristobel's Hoopgirl book too!

Who is your favorite hoop teacher? Heather! But I'm looking forward to getting some of SaFire's videos too.

What advice would you give to to beginner hoopers? Everyone says it, but it's totally true: "Love the process."

Do you fire hoop? If not, do you want to? Not yet, but I am DYING to!

Do own an LED hoop? Where did you get it? I don't have one yet. I plan to get one from Cosmic Hooper once I'm confident enough that I won't drop it too often.

How much time do you spend on Hoop City Hooping Community? Something like 2-5 hours a week. Mostly lurking.

What was the first trick you learned (besides waist hooping)? Wild West!

What is the last trick you mastered? ...Wild West! XD

What trick so far was the hardest for you to learn? I'm having a lot of trouble with chest hooping, but I think I'm getting it!

Which one are you finding is almost impossible to get? None so far. I just need to practice more I think. But I'm not doing anything super advanced yet!

How many hoopers would you say live in your town/city? Well, it's Santa Cruz. I'm sure there are a ton of them!

Have you performed hooping in front of an audience? Noooooooo, I'd probably pass out.

Has anyone told you you were too old to be playing with a hula hoop? I haven't let anyone see me hoop yet, except my hooping class! :p

What’s the worst injury you’ve acquired from the hoop? A few bruises on my hipbones and the tops of my hands. Plus on on my right shoulder that feels achy, like right after you get a flu shot.

Have you ever hooped naked? No, but now that you mention it, that's totally on my To Do list.

Have you been to a hoop camp/retreat? Which one? I have not, but I'll be signing up for Hoop Camp 2011!
