taking it a step further...

I am diligently saving up funds for my next hoop investment and ultimately I'd like to do the Distance Teacher Training offered by SaFire...I found myself almost ordering some hoop tape today and I had to back out of the transaction because something in my head reminded me, "No, remember you are saving for the Training course!"

First Hoop Performance

I performed my debut hoop performance last night at a small Greek Cafe in Las Vegas. I definitely was nervous and excited at the same time. I decided not to have someone record it on video because I thought it would throw off my concentration but I did take lots of pictures. So, I choreographed a piece to disco music (since it was disco-themed event) and I diligently practiced for 3 days straight. I can happily admit I had a lot of fun performing with my hoop. It was like I had a dance partner…

This is a little story of my hooping experience...A year ago this time (July 2009), I went to Mesquite, NV for my son's boxing tournament, while staying at the resort there I decided to lounge by the pool area for 3 days straight. To my surprise, they were having a Hula Hoop contest! My step-daughter insists I join and her words were, "If you are a bellydancer then you can hula hoop." I had not picked up a hoop since I was a wee one at 5 years of age.
