Weight and size of Hoop~ does it have an affect on performing tricks etc?

Okay so I am a new newbie... self taught... and I started with a GIANT hoop that I weighted with a length of rope fed inside while making the hoop (1/2"~ 44" wt 2-3lbs)... while I can sustain this…

I'm wondering if the odd shaped bit on your hoop that you're cutting down is where the connector is? (what did you use for a connector?) I just recently made a pvc hoop and because the tubing isn't as rigid as pex it's definitely a little 'flat' where the connection is and the few inches of space that the connector takes up inside. No way around that. PS. I hate the pvc hoop, too light and flimsy, it's like working with a happy but extremely drunk friend..ahahha! I'll just use it to practice hand tricks and off body moves and then transition back to my heavier hoop.

What size is the plus sized hoop that you posted about? (outer diameter, in inches). I use 3/4" pex (brand name is SuperPex), 180 psi and even my biggest hoops hold their shape (i have a really big and awesome 56" hoop, that I've had since last year and it is still going). What tubing did you use?
Let's put our heads together and maybe we can figure out what happened with your hoop. Do you have a picture?
