This entry is pretty long and detailed. It's mostly so I can remember how I learned the three beat weave.
I missed writing about week two. I skipped taking notes that week and almost immediately forgot the names of everything we worked on. I think we continued to work on our planes and began working on the two beat weave and also swinging the hoops in front of and behind our heads. I have no idea what it's called, but it looks awesome. I am okay at doing it with twins, but with minis…

I came here to post in my own journal, but I detoured first to read other people's latest entries. How uplifting to see so much good news today! People achieving goals, learning, growing, sharing, on a personal level and even with big crowds of people in performances! It makes me smile to read these things!
Me & Sid went to a local park and played for about 2 hours today. We brought the radio and all of our hoops, just in case anyone else wanted to play. Unbelievably warm weather…

I never thought I'd be teaching, and also so soon (~6 months) but somehow I now have a volunteer position teaching hoopdance to highschool kids in the juggling club! As mentioned in my previous journal, my troupe director "gave" me three hyper adhd 13 year old girls to teach hoop coreography to. My first session with them went really well! I wasn't even that nervous because they are just little derpy kids to me and also, I seemed to have luck compared to other adults getting them to…

Fast forward to 14:00 to see me.
I will now be featured on OVW regularly hooping for the wrestler, Silvio. This is a TV regular, weekly TV spot, which I find hilarious. I am not a wrestler, I just hoop for him and cheer him on at the ringside. We're kind of "ass hole/rock star hippies". I play Mary Jane, Silvio's chick but we're working on getting an entourage of hoopers.…

Ok, so... I left for the convention and it took us ages to arrive at the silly hotel. I was so excited and impressed with all the costumes and people. Sadly I wasn't there very long before something horrible happened and I woke up in a hospital with some lady asking me if she could remove my jewelery for x-rays on my neck. (Worry not! I am fine) Anyway! long story made short I was in the hospital for about a week before I was finally aloud to go home. I don't really remember much of what…

Does anyone out there have any old/used polypro hoops? I ran out of money making my fire hoop and all I need is the tubing or mainframe..I figured someone out there might have an old hoop lying around they would be willing to re-gift. I can even offer a trade, I am pretty crafty! This would be EPIC either way :)

I have much to say in my hoop journal as some amazing things have been happening! Mostly revolving around A Muse Troupe, the local group of circus entertainers I have joined up with. What a great idea that was! It's changing my life!
Since this master-of-all-toys left the troupe, they didn't have a dedicated hoopdancer until I showed up. I love my hoop and definitely want to perform with LED or fire even though I don't own one of those yet. That's why I joined! I wanted a…

Wet weather is your LED hoop’s worst nightmare.
Once the wires are wet they will rust and then no matter what, we can’t fix it!
Please keep them dry at all costs; I always supply a plastic cover with new LEDs
If you want one just send me S.A.E. and email for details

Hey everyone, I'm so pleased to announce that I have achieved my first long term hoop goal, which was to join an established circus and perform with them regularly. In addition to hooping, I'm being trained in aerial arts, including silks, lyra and trapeze. I'm so excited to see where this leads!
Much love,
Hans

I was the lucky winner of the December HoopCity Challenge, and I got a $25 gift certificate from hoopsupplies.com.
First I have got to say that hoopsupplies.com is a wonderful company to deal with. I was a dork and couldn't figure out where to put my gift certificate code, and they emailed me back immediately to let me know how, and they didn't call me a dork. Shipping was lightning quick. I am not sure where they are located but I think it took 2 days to get to me in…

I've been having shoulder and back problems lately which makes it really hard to practice. I stretch and warm up for at least 15 minutes, but for some reason my body isn't cooperating right now. Please send me good vibes and wish me well~

so I'm embarking on dance. I have been hooping now for 3 years with heavy exercise hoops but watching you all dance and do tricks has inspired me to get a smaller hoop. Sheyenne helped me decide which one I want. I'll share some video soon. It won't be long before I'm having church in my light hoop:)

Please do not bodge your travel / LED hoop button in with something, always tricky to get out!
Use a fingernail or fingertip to let the pipe slide over the button.
If you can’t fish it out with a strong paper clip type thing, we’ll fix it !
Just email me

I got lots of hooping time in today. Mother Nature was surely smiling upon Atlanta, GA, because despite it being the end of January, it was sunny and warm outside, just perfect! I mentioned before that I've been a little frustrated at having such a small amount of tricks to work with. So I took the time to learn a new trick even if it wasn't one that just wowed me. I really think I need to go to a few classes soon where I can learn some new things with a bit of guidance.
I did a lot…

I'm about to have my 2nd hoopiversary and I was think back on the 2 years I've been hooping. mmm.... where to begin....
Its been great learning everything I now know (or think I know lol). The first year I was in a fire troop and gigged around the north east. It was awesome I got to meet a whole new crowd of spinners, bands and artist. But this year was hard. hooping really helped me through it even though I went longish periods of time without hooping.
(about to get…
