I've been having shoulder and back problems lately which makes it really hard to practice. I stretch and warm up for at least 15 minutes, but for some reason my body isn't cooperating right now. Please send me good vibes and wish me well~
so I'm embarking on dance. I have been hooping now for 3 years with heavy exercise hoops but watching you all dance and do tricks has inspired me to get a smaller hoop. Sheyenne helped me decide which one I want. I'll share some video soon. It won't be long before I'm having church in my light hoop:)

I got lots of hooping time in today. Mother Nature was surely smiling upon Atlanta, GA, because despite it being the end of January, it was sunny and warm outside, just perfect! I mentioned before that I've been a little frustrated at having such a small amount of tricks to work with. So I took the time to learn a new trick even if it wasn't one that just wowed me. I really think I need to go to a few classes soon where I can learn some new things with a bit of guidance.
I did a lot…

I just became exposed to the hooping community less than a month ago and I've been obsessed watching YouTube video's since then. It's pretty funny because I've noticed almost every single video I've seen has a cat or dog or any other type of domesticated animal. I'm totally wondering if I should steal my sisters dog Nikki so he can be a part of my vids when I start. It's just really interesting. I think it says something about people who are attracted to hooping. Just some of my internal…

Two weeks ago my daughter and I went to Brecken's workshop. It was so amazing! We learned so much and met so many new friends. Brecken is just an incredible, talented and giving young lady. And funny as heck! If you ever have a chance to take her workshop, YOU SHOULD!!! You will not be disappointed. I am so happy I went. I walked away with a feeling that was so unexplanable that I have been hanging on to ever since. It still gives me chills. I love how much my hooping has…

When I was little, I told myself that if I could just push through high school, that I would have a chance. Fly to LA and work towards being an actress, make ends meet, get into the music industry.
Instead I went to college.
After four years of an Adderallized life, I realized that I was already 21 and then Lady Gaga came out and she was only 20. I always wonder how Avril felt at 17 to make her first music video while I was cutting myself in the school locker…
In my life, I have imagined that I would be great. Right now, I start to doubt myself, as if my truth is never there. Life as I understand it tells me to be aware of celebrity faces and product lines and business names. Is this what my life is about -- waking up and seeing images of Lady GaGa in my store, flipping through a radio station and hearing Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, and wondering why theirs is the only relationship anybody cares about. How does one get famous, and where does…

I broke out my gold hoop at work the other day during the afternoon break. (Yes, I'm employed again - yay!) I was in the parking lot, in a spot I thought was somewhat less exposed to the general public, spinning along blissfully and not really caring what the co-workers in the smoking group nearby thought.
Next thing I know, a car full of people came up and stopped in front of me. While the back right side passenger filmed me on a cell phone, the guy in the front passenger…

It's a new year. I haven't done much hooping but I did meet a new friend! I moved back to Fayetteville and now I'm still trying to figure out where I want to be.
I met a boy a few months ago, and I really am starting to think that I am in love with him. He lives in Greensboro. I feel like he's everything I have ever wanted. When I get upset he knows the solution. He's got me. We have so much fun together, are personalities explode when we are together, but lately I've been…

Since I've been taking a small break for my crochet website its given me so much more time to pay attention to myself.Which feels so good! i set a goal for myself to be able to do a split, straddle and a back bend before the spring and I'm succeeding! everyday i spend a half hour or so stretching first, a light stretch then into a deep stretch. now after a 15 minute warm up i can touch my nose to my knees and do a back bend without feeling all the muscles pulling and the bones cracking and my…
Ahhh I'm so happy, this is the beginning of a reversal addiction. There's so many ways to do them and I must master them all mwahaha!
ive been hooping seriously for 5 months or so now. and im just starting to feel the flow. i was always a dancer but picking up a hoop brings in a whole new effect that i absolutely fell in love with. Isolations are my favorite. i love playing tricks with the eyes! im just getting the iso pop down recently and still working on it. but now i dont feel like im drilling moves as much. i try to dance everyday with the hoop in anticipation for the summer. i cant wait for camp bisco! im going to…

Suppose that one "goal" of hooping is to not have your hoop go flying out of your control, clattering to the floor. To keep it smoothly flowing from one movement to another. To execute the movements with precision and grace, in your own style the way only your body can do it. To experiment, and learn.
I would watch hoopdancers out of the corner of my eye. I could see what they were doing but didn't want to be creepy and stare so I never truly took the time to see the intricacies…

I dont know what is happening to me. I see these hoopers dancing with LED hoops at the clubs and its no longer interesting to me. I feel bored....when it used to be awe inspiring....am I growing cynical? growing away from the hoop? why am I judging other artists....I feel like a total asshole.
I need some serious motivation. I am having the hoopers equvilent to writers block and have been for months. no bueno
