Hoopers! Help make Michigan a prettier place!!

Dear Metro-Detroit Friends,







I have the unique opportunity to propose a plan on how we in Detroit

can turn some of the vacant lots into Sunflower fields, wild flower

fields, and Native prairie grass fields instead of having the lots

mowed this summer.







With over 20,000+ vacant fields there is no way I

could possibly pull this off without a lot of…

Student swirly girly

i was super frustraited recently on what type of led hoop to purchase and i was wrestling with super hoop and psi. both great hoop made by great people who work hard to make a hoop individual for you. i bought the super hoop yesterday and im planning on buying the psi later in the spring . both are rather expensive but to help a fellow hooper and to have variety i guess i cant complain. =oP why not have two ifyou cant decide.

Student Random thoughts, 2/28/09

Yet again it is raining and nasty outside. I'm sooo over this Tennessee "winter weather." A 'snow maker' weather front is moving in and we'll get nastiness and maybe a few flakes tonight--tomorrow will be cold. Ugh. I like my apartment but I tired of being trapped inside because the weather can't make up its mind. I want freedom to hoop outside!!! Student Wednesday Night Hooping

A tantalizingly warm world welcomed me back to good health today. I took the kids outside to play, caught up on school and house work, cuddled with my husband, and hooped the evening away. Late night hoop jams take on extra dimensions when they follow a day of sporadic hooping. The flow is already there…I just start spinning.



Tonight I danced the 1st half of Tool’s haunting album “Lateralus.” Beyond being an audio marvel and the soundtrack to many, many head-phoned walks to work,…

Student I got out!!

Inspired by the J-toss and other off body moves I wanted to try, I took my hoops this afternoon and... exited my apartment! Wooooo.... hehe I ventured into the outer would, set myself up on the green outside the apartment complex for all those home on Friday peeps to watch from inside their apt windows as I bonked myself in the head, tangled my legs up in the hoop and ran around chasing the magical evading circle! It was AWESOME !! :-D One of the apt renters even walked by with a potential…

Student Ow ow ow ow ow, My Butt Hurts!

Tried something new today on my break. I like the idea of playing with crawling through the hoop, as if it's a tunnel, but one that can appear anywhere around you. So today, I tried setting the hoop next to me, vertically, holding it up with my right hand. Then releasing it, quickly ducking through while it's free standing, and catching it in my left hand before it drops to the floor (or, ideally, even begins to really fall).



The result is a really sore butt from all that ducking.…

Time to be Miss Productive-Pants! (Or Trousers for all the English folks)

After spending last night in emo-land, face-desking and baking double chocolate chocolate chip cookies to drown my sorrows in, it's time to be constructive!



(Although I will admit to having a cookie for breakfast after realizing that last night wasn't just a bad dream.)

Student Minor Accomplishment

The weather today was absolutely gorgeous--86 degrees according to one outdoor thermometer I passed--so I spent part of the afternoon hooping at Fair Oaks park. I forgot to bring something to pull my hair up with (can't chest/shoulder hoop very well with it down), and there was a little too much breeze to make it a perfect hooping session, but it was so nice to be hooping outside someplace other than the deck by my apartment's office. Pretty view, but old after a while.

Student mucho disappointed =(

So my computer broke and it is making me verrrrrryyyyy sad! (not to mention angry) When I log on it just shows me the desktop background but there are no icons and it won't let me do anything. so i'm very scared that i've lost all my pictures and hooping videos for good =( Luckily, I can still use the computers at my college but that only goes so far. Anybody else have this problem with their computer?

Student Spring Cleaning (of my soul!)

Since becoming unemployed (a month ago?) I've had a lot of free time to practice hooping; I even built my first hoop!



I've also had a lot of time to think about things. I have come to the conclusion I have a lot of junk in my life. Too many clothes I don't wear, too much stuff I never use, etc. It's sort of the same thing internally: I have too many thoughts, too many emotions dragging my soul down. All this junk is making me lazy. My motivation is sapped, and the house shows…

Student so simple...

i have been hooping sporadically since last summer...

mostly focused on learning tricks or trying to hoop on upper body..(knee hooping is a mystery to me)

but my rhythm and flow were nonexistent ... seriously...none.. nada...zilch..

i started picking up the hoop everyday for a couple of hours this month.. practicing tricks...

but sometimes just hooping around the waist while watching a movie...

all this waist hooping has given me more than just bruises,

Student A quick one while he's away...

I about to make dinner for the boyfriend and I but I wanted to share my happiness with my two latest hoop projects! I received my tapes on Monday and the glow sticks today for the two collapsible hoops I am making. Student Wer'e Still Having Fun

Have you ever been so excited about an event that you think..."After this happens I can die happy"? That's how I feel about this summer. This cold weather is just not cutting it! I love to hoop and doing it indoors has been a peach but when I imagine being outside again, in the green grass, sun on my face, at a festival, with hoopers all around me... I just long for it!!



So my hooping workshop on Friday was a hit! There were 5 hoopers. One was in her 70's (not the same one from hoop…

Student My first experience of outdoor hooping!

Saturday was a beautiful spring-like day so I took advantage by hooping out in the garden, christening my hoop with its first grassy stains! It felt quite different moving on a lumpy lawn from a wooden floor. It's still early enough in the year for winter to reassert its influence so I was lucky to experience this early taster of outdoor hooping.



As well as being new to hooping I'm also new to video capture/editing/uploading so it was also a good chance to test out that process too.…
