1. My friend let me borrow his webcam for a couple hours so I could get some footage of my first LED!  I have pretty much given up on the video aspect of hooping because it stresses me out so much.  I like seeing what my hooping looks like from different angles but other than that I prefer mirrors…

I was going to hoop tonight, but my husband fell asleep in the middle of the living room floor.... and it's been cold and rainy all day.  Glad I got some good hooping in this morning, but I was all ready to go tonight as well.  Guess I'll follow suit, call it an early night, and if I'm lucky wake up before my daughter does and hoop in the a.m.  (or wait for her nap hahaha)

Learning so much from SaFire and the other women in our class of 7 at the cozy Flowjo in Carrboro.  Our first day was 4 hours and I could feel the tension and inhibitions melting as we worked together and became comfortable with ourselves in this new class setting. 

I have definitely stayed in the student mind.

i love hooping in public because its such a social thing to do. im really discouraged when i look at youtube videos of other people because i feel like i should be further along. i want to meet more hoopers. i want to work more on vertical hooping and isolations.

Today I have been wondering why the hoop is so powerful?

Why does it make people feel so good?

What it actually is that makes the hoop so powerful transformation tool?

Is it the balancing and activating of the chakras?

Is it the round shape that speaks to our soul about wholeness and infinite connection?

I'm just so fascinated by these thoughts <3

I've been light on hoop practice the past week, for various reasons, but tonight I buckled down and... MADE HOOPS! I'm using 100psi, 3/4" polyethylene. I made one megahoop by measuring to just below my breasts and cutting the tubing there, and one 42"er that's got two joins and hopefully will allow me to twist and fold it down for transport. 42" (1" diameter) is what I've been working with, though my first hoop is heavier.
