I finally got my first hoops made with the high density polyethylene (HDPE) tubing I bought from McMaster-Carr (see Time for a minor rant... for more about that). Rather than tell you about the experience in writing, I figured I'd just tell you. So...

Well Hoopers,

I've defiantley been slacking on hoop city...but don't be alarmed, for actual HOOPING has kept me away. Recently my friend and I made more hoops, smaller ones made of polyethylene. All I can say is... LOVE IT! I've found it eaiser to flow between movements with the smaller hoop.

Tonight is my last hoop class, and I'm very excited and sad to end this first step in my hoop journey (special shout out to my amazing teacher Nina, you lit the hoop fire…

In the last 4 days I have; helped consume 14 kegs, got thrown around, played derby and had my ankle and knee completely messed - taking me out of the next game which would have been my last game in Calgary, submitted my very first resignation letter to work, got sunburnt, laughed, cried, saw Iron Maiden, lost my phone, found my phone, hooped my tush off and took some video of a passed out dude getting hit in the face with a blow up whale.... *blank stare*.

I've brought my twins to my parents mountain getaway home for their community day camp. I'm excited to have them in camp for a few hours the next few days and I can get in some serious hoop time. I'm currently working on perfecting leg hooping and twins. I'm also working on workshop material for our big event Aug. 21st in downtown Dallas.

The beauty of the mountians is so inspiring, evenings cool and you can almost taste the green in the air. Carolina mountain happiness!

I love to look at experienced hoopers performance. I am always is such awe of something so simple and yet so magical and beautiful. I love belly dancing because is celebrates the female form and all that is woman. I also see pregnant belly dancers and pregnant hoopers too! We as women are empowered to show our beauty and strength as we share with each other to create our bodies in a whole new way.

The day after my 3month anniversary (june 22) I get my 1st injury while hooping....

well I have noticed a slight few folks in the community having strong opinions on what others do, how they dress, and even in how they choose to present themselfs.

personally i feel that these opinons are certainly valid.

HOWEVER,

it is my personal opinon that one persons desicions are fine and good for that person we as a community should not allow ourselfs to slip down that slope of judging the actions and desicions of others.
