Student One Year in the Hoop-isphere!

Isn't it fun to add "hoop" to different words to make hoop-anguage? Okay that was a stretch but you know what I mean. Which of you hasn't said Hoop-tastic!... or Hoop to see you later!???? Admit it! So dorky ...but so fun.

I just made a successful video hoop-casing (ha ha ha, okay I'll stop) showcasing most of the moves I've learned in my one year of hooping. There's a lot of pressure when you are trying to post a "look how far I've come" video.…

birthday success!!!!!!

So, after a weekend full of cake baking(and failing, and rebaking, and kIcKiNG cake aSS), hoop making, veggie chopping, and stressing about failure, my daughter had an amazing party today!! Our friends are so awesome. Everyone helped out, and the other mother who was co-throwing the party did an amazing job with decorations. Ima post some pictures, but it was awesome. I am tired, but i get to hoop before bed. I didn't hoop til at the party for the past three days, due to party prepping. Eek!

feelin inspired

I'm so glad to have found this wonderful community of hoopers! I have felt so inspired in my hooping since i have joined. Yesterday i (almost) got down a new trick and got MUCH better with a couple moves I've been working on. Thank you to all of you wonderful hoopers for creating such an amazing vibe and inclusive environment where all are welcome to share and learn.

Student So much to do....so little time

It seems that with a full time job, teaching hooping classes, getting my son to band and his job, practicing hooping, promoting my classes, cooking, cleaning the house (notice that came last ;), there is no time left. Thankfully when I am in the hoop, everything stands still for just a little while. Time doesn't seem to exist, just me the hoop and whatever music is on. How blessed we are that we have something that not only gives us exercise, but a euphoric sense of peace as we perform that…

Student alone

at midnite i was hooping my usual spot, on the crummy basketball court in the middle of my block. but some damn dog was barking everytime i made any itty bitty noise. it got so annoying. so to avoid trouble (and cops and 15 year old klepto kids out past curfew), i took a drive out to Park and Ride bout 3 miles out of town. it was nice i was the only one out there, and had a good view of the town. the stars were beautiful tonight. no moon, so the sky was thick with them.

Popping By

I've just removed a hoop friend that I think might actually be a social networking spambot rather than a hooper. Boo!



Work schedule shifted earlier and I am still adjusting. Plus I woke up from a post yoga nap with a splitting headache. Yay.



But at least I am back in yoga and I supposedly start dance class Saturday, if they get enough people. I hope so.



My one legged hooping, which I tried on a lark and persisted because of stubborn, is getting better. I notice…

Student Like a Whirlwind

Nigel and I went on vacation earlier this month. I got back to work last Tuesday and the real world is no fun.



We spent a few days with friends in Vancouver, and then hit Seattle to meet up with my bestie and see Depeche Mode. Cue the arm clutching, frantic dancing, OMG I can't believe this is really happening, crying tears of joy moments. Dave Gahan can twirl like nothing I have ever seen. Anticipation - [an-tis-uh-pey-shuhn] "Expectation of Hoop"

I ordered my new hoop a few days ago, (a hynotica travel hoop) and I am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. I've been sitting at my computer surfing the net, and filling up on watching others show off their stuff on video. I've been so inspired, I can barely sit still. I can hardly wait.



A couple weeks ago, I celebrated my 50th birthday...my back hurts, I'd like to loose a few pounds, build energy, increase stamina, tone up, and strengthen my core. I know how important it is to exercise,…

Birthday Party!

My daughter is turning three next week, and we're having this awesome party for her and one of my friend's daughters, who is turning 5. It's gonna be awesome. It's at a park, and we're having face painting, a bracelet making area, a happy hardcore dj, a hooping area, games, and this bomb rainbow pinata. It's gonna be super fun. I'm making hoops today for the hooping area. I'm making rainbow cake, and we're having a taco bar. I have a ton of homework, though. I need to clone myself....

Student w00t w00t!

so i finally figured out one-shoulder hooping last night!



let me confess this before i go on: i have most of my hooping breakthroughs when i've got a bit of a buzz going. i think it's because i'm loosened up physically, and i'm more interested in having fun and not worrying so much about how OMG i suck at hooping.

Student I am so excited !

I just got a positive reply from an organisation that will do a Sports day for Handicap people this sunday in my town and I will teach them some hooping !!! Hurray ! just wanted to share the excitement with you hoopydoopyfriends :)))

Student People Hatin on Hoop Dancers!

So me and my wonderful friend Suzanne just started up a Sunday Spin Day at our local park! This past sunday was the first and it went sooo well! We had quite a few girls show up to hoop and a group full of amazing drummers and guitarists to play music for us! I had so much fun!



The only thing that bothers me (and I know I shouldn't let it but I cant help it)are all the ignorant fearful people out there that immediately degrade something new to them!

It's been a month now..

So, it's been just a little over a month since I've started hooping. Move-in day for college was this past Saturday and I'm finally settled in. My parents asked me if I was going to bring my hoop with me and I said "Of course!!" within one second of them asking.



Saturday night our RA, Paige, was stopping by our rooms to check up on us, and she saw my hoop. She asked about it and asked what else I could do with it. I told her about how I got started hooping and different things that…

I work at a toy store. When their summer collection came out, they had an assortment of plastic hoops & skip-its. The hoops were child sized and weightless; I'm already spoiled by the poly hoops & grip tape, so the best part was the trio of flashing LED lights activated by bumping it. Student fire ho0p!!

I was just blessed last night... ForestFairieLaughter came by and sprinkled her pixie dust and BAM! A FIRE HOOP appeared!! Its black and red with 5 spokes and im to0o0otallly stoked to use it this saturday!! yay!! so many sweet adventures are coming my way.. learning a new level of ho0ping is just around the corner!!
